Use Dropbox, labels often mention it, the quality is much better than SC

Gonna check these out thanks guys! The problem I find is that most free ones are very limited in the amount of embedded players allowed and/or the total file size limit is low and/or the branding is obnoxious. I guess we cant have it all for free though... can we?

 

Without any explanation or experience, this list is useless.

 

It's been useful for me for exactly those reasons I knew very little before searching through the list. thanks to this thread I'm up on 4 new services.

 

Good for you, but, anyone can find lists on the internet.

A list is very close to a lost of time as you have to check every thing one by one, not to speak about these pages with list, but the explanation depends of their commissions. And what ever you read, it will never replace experience.

So, I like much better when an experienced user, here, speak about a service, good or bad, because this is when we save time, and potential problems.

Of course, not every one need to save time ...

You did not misunderstand anything. Both lists are useful! For those in doubt:

This is not a list of "random" services from internet.
It's a list of (supposedly) supported Audiosex forum embeddable media services.

Anyway, back on topic. There are loads of video-sharing sites on that long list, and honestly, only a handful of the audio ones are worth using, even as external links. I can hardly put up a simple webpage, but from what I gather, when you enter an audio media link (or embed code) using the Audiosex "Media" button, the page should turn it into some sort of widget that is then displayed.

ATM for audio with waveform display - embedding only works with Soundcloud. I tried to make it work with Audiomack, since it is on the list and it seems to be similar (which I like), but I couldn't. Again, I can be wrong here, but to make at least a couple of those to work, it would mean changing part of the forum's code.. And with those services changing their code, ceasing operation (like zippy etc) or implying some stupid policy, that probably means lots of work if not a nightmare.

@Daisy69, I couldn't find this info/limit anywhere. Do you have a link?. I only found a limit of 180 min.(3 hours) and that than you can/must delete files, thus "make space" for new material, if you want to upload more..

I used it for my band. We used it manly for private listening and download directly at fidbak.audio.
But at some point , I've done a forum for us, and after embedding 2 playlists in the forum, I was unable to add another. With same problem as described.
I deleted one of these 2 at fidbak.audio but still it says " you have reached max embeddable playlists"....

 

not good. I also got an account there but I'm just getting started. get on it, get your friends on it and when it's looking ok, you have to pay?

I just wanted to add, in case anyone reading this thinks twice about using Fidbak due to the word "scam" being thrown out above, I have used this site since launch and its great. It does what it does, read the free vs paid to find out. Yes, they've had to set some limitations in recent times, but theyve also added features and updated everything along the way. So yeah, it most definitely is not a scam. 100% legit and run by friendly reputable studio guys in France

itch is a little more difficult for me . I've seen some nice sites on itch but they were talented at web building. I'm shit at it . but for those of us that are shit at web building there are many sites we can post on. just get started. it's quite fun and can become an obsession.
