Got the interface for testing, fan noise in High Setting is an issue so is the heat the interface produces. Anubis has a comfortable 12V 18W power supply the MT48 has to cope with a 5V USB-C 1,2A wand-wart.
I´m still running it with Aneman since the USB driver is not available yet, no testing of the mic-pre yet....
In comparison with my Antelope Audio Zen Tour SC, the sound quality of the D/A converters is slightly brighter and offers a tiny little bit more width and depth in the stereo image even though the Zen feels warmer and, imho has an analogish property, I personally do not want to miss.
The controls on screen are well laid out and easy to use, no critique there.
As soon as they release the drivers I´ll tell you more

Do you have to run the fan in High Settings or was it your choice to try to salvage the electronic from overheat?

 

This is Anubis minus Ethernet plus Type C.
People making fun of it are the ones who would use those snake oil plugins, snake oil cables, snake oil Acoustic products but then when it comes to good things, they will label it expensive and laugh.

 

To be fair, we don't know how stable it will be in a real world environment. We saw a lot of horror stories with Anubis driver stability and the interface is yet to be released but still they announced it many moons ago. It could be a total failure just like Neumann industry abysmal tweeters. We will still need to wait and see what's really going on once its released.

 

You have 3 settings Low, Mid and High...Low - up to 20 min, Mid - the next 15 min and High for the hour after.....
No, realy, it gets very hot and Neumann states the performance suffers if the unit gets too hot... I hope they get that sorted out.
As I said, I have tester unit #50... Meaning it´s not for resale...(Beta Production Unit)

 

Well that really need to be fixed because I was hoping to be able to sell my Twin X Duo to fund a part of the MT 48 but if it fails or else under high temperature, that mean I won't be able to rely on it when I'm on the coast in Colombia for half of my year and that is useless.

Fingers crossed because those 4 point PEQ per output would be incredible.
