that's it. no suggestions except that it was too short. it's a track made on 2 days... a mere demo...there has got to be something...probably many things that y'all dislike and could do better... I live off the critics for God's sake! Otherwise, and it's not a threat, I'll continue to lambast everyone with the same old mistakes!

 

For a 2 day old track its sounding really interesting.

Here's what i thought (imho) in a bit more detail ...mix sounds decent and balanced at least on my speakers, i really like the distortion at the beginning, the synthy echo like slide melody is cool and hooky maybe expand that?, the glitchy vocals are spot on for my taste, around 1:30 it sounds kinda dissonant to me...maybe deliberate?.... i hasten to add i like to hear dissonance but some others might not? Improvements?....probably a slower longer build up before the beat comes in, maybe add another melody instrument towards to add variety to the climax ? As for my first comment about it being short.....i thought it could have bounced right back up again after the fast fade out. It sounds like its edited from a longer track to me there.

Anyway i hope this comment bumps the post up so other people hear it

 

I mean, don't get me wrong, it sounds good and the mixing is great. But 1 million? Fuck no

Not my cup of tea so i'm not really confident giving any criticism here, when that happens i usually point out what comes out as annoying or just universally "bad", which didn't happen now.

The only think i could point out is that the melody on the second track feels very aimless, maybe that's on purpose idk.

Anyway, nice job .

 

thanks mk_96! I'm going to study your comment because you are probably right. I write these tracks too fast and they are never really finished.

 

bean paste comes from my chicago chinatown days. the pastry shops there have a delicooooooooooous treat called bean paste. coochie is a vulgar term from the past.

 

I'm just listening on my phone as I take a dump so can't comment on the mixes though it does seem just about as loud as you could make it, but I like bean paste as well as bao. Coochie. have a jelly roll on me.

 

You were the main character in one of my piss winders on here in the last week or some shit like that, haha.

I listened to both of your tracks and I really like that first track a lot! Has some cool mysterious celestial vibes coming from it. Second one too but I felt like the second one was quirckier & more playlful than the first although the vibe got better later on in the first but ended on a quickier. That first track was reaching for some mushroomhead bliss there though, tell you that much. That first track could have been much longer with more pad progression as a result and I would not be mad at all. Keep at it OP.

 

The main job for mastering is to keep the bass at a level that covers the plop sound and I also side-chain Soothe to promote synesthesia that may even cover the smell of the descending poop at zero latency. we are talking about microseconds here before the plop and the splash.
More study needs to be done regarding this plop and splash times compared to kick and bass or kick and snare timing.

I like to try different stuff. the two are very different. to get out of my boredom i discovered that you can also travel in your compositions, dreaming of one region in the world or another and trying to give something to the people that live there. crossover and beyond!!!

 

Cool & creative way to see things, I love to gather other peoples perspectives on what they're doing. Endlessly interesting, your first track definitely has something like that going on.

 

After finally finishing my dump, watching my 4 years old niece, doing the laundry, unpacking and setting up my new Polybrute synth, walking the dog, showering, making lunch, feeding the birds, building our new garden bench, recycling the glass and metal and having a piece of chocolate I can honestly say that I like both of your tunes.
