Yep, just confirmed in the newsletter. Not even rent to own is available and it's way too expensive, compared to their old offers. I'll keep my account for future changes in hardware or OS but other than that, I'm out. :suicide:

glad I ditched Waves years back :hahaha:

anyway, 250 bucks (a year) for literally all the Waves plugins may seem okay to some users, it's roughly equal to cost of former WUP

I have to be honest: in my opinion subscriptions are the best thing if you are a professional. In the end I bought hundreds of plugins that I no longer use and I don't know where to end them, almost always you never manage to sell anything. Instead, you use whatever you need, and as soon as it no longer meets your criteria, stop paying. For example I've been using McDSP for three months and Slate subs for almost a year, I've found that I hardly ever open them so bye bye! Non-professionals, hobbyists, rookies etc always rely on R2R, so there's no point in considering them. Just my opinion.

I assume BF sale will cut that price a fair amount, but I already have PA, SLATE and IK, so not sure if I need another subscription as long as we have friends on Sister Site taking care.

Okay, serious question. Does any of you guys use enough Waves plugins to justify paying 250 a year?

I use like 5 or 6, that would be like what, $300 one time payiment for perpetual licenses in the old model?

Really shitty for those who bought their plugins on sale. Why not both? At least Reason give you that option. I am so sick of these Corporate Suits taking away consumer choices. You're literally encouraging Piracy with this crap. Why pay for a overpriced subscription for a few plugins you may not use all the time when I can get it for free and use them any time I want.

    Fucktards. :deep_facepalm:

You wont be able to purchase perpetual licenses anymore. Waves has gone full subscription now. But you do keep he perpetual licenses you purchased in the past.

Realistically I need a replacement for RBass and I can survive. H Delay is really nice and the CLA stuff is fun but every other plugin I just have for "maybe ill try it one day" or another version of a plugin I have elsewhere (Plugin Alliance SSL stuff for example)

A lot of professionals will use R2R waves from now, BC i bet lots of them are not stupid for subscription where's there's no rent to own. If the software is not yours (same as the crack), why some would spend money on it? I don't support scam, and yes, i buy plugins. But from waves, from now, never. Treat em like freebies, they don't deserve money, your money, with this bullsh*t.

These evil dipshits had WUP before, which was essentially a subscription.
