If you were looking to buy budget, minimal DJ gear now for home use, what would you buy?

Not too bothered whether it's using Rekordbox, Serator DJ Pro, Virtual DJ, or Traktor as I've used all in the past and owned controllers such as the Pioneer DDJ-1000, Native Instruments Traktor S4, Vestax VCI-300 back in the day.

Now I no longer play live, I'm just looking for something budget, small, and minimal for use at home for my own fun for mixing techno and tech house type of stuff for personal pleasure.

What would you consider? I'd ideally like something with a small footprint, but usable. Not too bothered about it being a full controller with jogs etc as it's now almost 25 years since I learner to beat match on some dodgy Numark belt driven vinyl decks, so I'm more than happy to resort to the sync button nowadays as it's more about the creative mixing and song selection than the art of beat matching for me nowadays.

Any suggestions? Open to consider any recommendations, be it the Pioneer DDJ-FLX4, the Reloop Mixtour, or whatever else people suggest...

If you only need 2 decks/channels the FLX-4 is a great choice. The FLX-4 replaced the DDJ-400. The FLX-4 is RekordBox and Serato compatible. The DDJ-400 was RekordBox only. Shop around and see what's available in your price range
