How do I overwrite previous notes with a new one without overlapping?

    Thank you.

I don't think this is implemented, at least I've never seen that option (neither in other DAWs).

Select the notes by dragging rmb as usual, right click and then select "Join notes" (Or just press J by default). You must select the specific area because otherwise it will join other notes that are not necessarily overlapping.

Alternatively you could go to Actions-"correct overlapping notes" or "correct overlapping notes while editting", but the way that works is that it will try to preserve all notes that are overlapping, it'll shorten notes out so they all fit, probably not what you're looking for.

It's close to what I want, but you are right, it's shortening the long note in an annoying way.
