SEM 1.5.0 and OB-E 2.5.0 introduce a problem of stuck notes after a while in Ableton (latest version) + Mac M1/M2. Never had an issue with stuck notes in them both before the update in previous version. I also downloaded the legit versions since I bought them on sale a few months ago and same issue. I'm going to write to Gforce support.

Stuck notes after a while on a Midi clip in the project (I have to turn the volume to 0 in muted parts of the project to bypass the issue, very annoying).

No stuck notes issue with MiniMonsta 2 (sister site) though. So I suspect it's a Gforce issue with SEM and OB-E only on Macs.

Using Mac M1, macOS Ventura and latest Ableton.

When you say latest version of Ableton, are you talking about Live 11.2.10, because they do address SOME midi issues in that!

 

Yes that one. Yes saw the change log. It fixed quite a few things and for instance Repro 1/5 no longer crashes my DAW sessions. Happy about that.

But now I have this Gforce issue with SEM and OB-E only, since I updated them yesterday. Nothing to do with Ableton since I updated Ableton 3 weeks ago and had no issue.

 

No but the older versions of the Gforce stuff I have from my sister dont do this (which is why if it works, I dont update)

 

Well yes and no. I tend to not update immediately, when in some instances it's needed (especially when new UI is introduced like this one, and especially when you're a M1 user, these lame editors finally release a working version still in 2023).

 

Edit 1: experiencing the same issue with MiniMonsta 2 as well.

Edit 2: someone replied on sister site it's all normal for Gforce plugins apparently:

"It’s not a problem it’s actually an option somewhere near your synth you will need to click the option off I cannot remember what it’s called without looking at my studio but yes it’s an option so the note that is pressed keeps playing"

Problem 1: even when I press 'hold' on and off (it was always off anyway, so it's not the issue) the signal keeps on

Problem 2: it wasn't like this before (or at least I never noticed in previous versions)

Problem 3: even shutthefuckup.axmd doesn't work with these plugins. I used shupthefuckup.axmd on an older version of Massive X that had this issue and it worked back then. But it doesn't work with these Gforce plugins.

Pretty lame answer tbh I never had any update issue on 999 plugins in the past (legit, not legit, doesn't matter).

Also I relaunched Ableton and the problem doesn't seem to occur anymore. Might well be Ableton's latest update introducing new issues instead of fixing them as they claim in the change log.
