    Hi there,

I'm testing AGM from Ample Sound, I must say I'm impressed with the sound, but there 's one thing I just don't like, but maybe I'm wrong, you tell me...

it seems that you can't control the sustain of the note(s) played with some sort of ADSR (in the finger mode),

as far as I understand, you have the control switch "sus" but as soon as you stop playing the note, there is not any sustain at all,

on the other hand you can press the "hold pedal" option but then , the sustain is very long, it some case this is ok, but in other case it will be way too much, it would be great if you could control in real time the duration of the sustain.

PS : in "strummer mode" meaning as soon as you activate it with the "on" switch, you have the the "rel time" button which does exactly what I want but only in strummer mode for chords, that's really too bad.

So please tell me if I'm wrong or what ?

Dunno had the same problem, theres actually some good you tube videos on how to use, but i found it to complex to be realistic in using,So
its better to play the real thing! My Gibson Lespaul Studio

Do you have an actual sustain pedal? I abandoned using Amplesound's stuff pretty quickly, but if you have a sustain pedal, I believe you can control the sustain (or "hold", as you stated above) just like you would a piano.

On the other hand, since the advent of realistic-sounding guitar VIs, I only use the sustain pedal on acoustics, and even then, only sparingly. You're probably just as well off holding down notes (or, in a graphic MIDI editor, lengthening the notes) up to the beginning of the next note, especially if you don't own or don't have a lot of experience with sustain pedals. I use the note-lengthening technique since, when you play a real guitar, you either cut off whatever note is ringing the minute you switch fingers on the fretboard or the moment you strum the next note/chord. I leave a little bit of space at the end of the previous note and before the beginning of the next for "release noise" and assorted fret squeaks.

Isn't there a "Hold" button somewhere?

    HI there,

    sorry,

    I totally forgot my message,

thanx a lot for your answers,

and yes I think this baby really need some time to get used to it, and I'm really far from it.

it seems the only alternative I got is the one from Iggy with the graphic midi editor,

I tried to use a Boss FS-5U footswitch as a hold pedal with no success, and even if it would work, I don't know if I would like it, because like I said with the "hold pedal" button option" on the GUI, it's a on/off thing and this isn't good, it should be like a release function that you can control in time,

Why the function exists in "strummer" mode, you can choose between 0 to 16 seconds, and doesn't in "finger" mode, that's too bad.

If I had paid for it I would be definitely asking for this feature...
