This sentence requires a noun to make sense.
I.e. "Your snare sounds like shit."

It also could use an adjective..."Your fucking snare sounds like shit".

    We're getting there...
How about "your fucking snares sounds like dog shit"?

PS. this remembers me some posts of... @DoubleTake ? Talking about something totally different and ending with a "random":
    "But your snares still suck"

I suggest a new internet slang acronym to place everywhere:

I think "dog shit" is too limiting. It's not even the worst shit. "Your fucking snare sounds like shit!" is punchier, and sort of implies any, or even all shit. Like, your snare sounds like ALL possible shit. So, YFSSLS.

Why are scat lovers so discriminated against in the audio community?

That thing sounds like utter shit. You could do better with a 90s rompler. It's not the tech, I just don't think the programmers understand the instruments they are trying to recreate. The exception might be their bass guitar. It seems to sound good but its buried in the mix.

PS- I won't badmouth RealGuitar any more after that garbage.

I programmed and played incredibly realistic guitar parts on synth for years, even getting a Roland AX-1 strap-on keyboard and using a 30 foot MIDI cable to walk into the audience like Buddy Guy...
But I retired from my gov't day job and decided to use the extra time to actually learn how to play the real thing.
18 months later I can say I've never been so rewarded, musically.
I remember a keyboardist years ago, saying that playing a Hammond organ emulation was like fucking with a rubber.
Actually, I've found that guitar emulations are more like wanking off.
Ain't nothin' like the real thing, baby.
    Just changed my strings...

You might still be able to feel it's fake when listening these separately but there's no way you won't be fooled when these threes play in a mix.
I have no experience with modo drums but the two others IMHO are already realistic enough to fool (almost) anyone when playing with other instruments.

made me laugh especially because we had one of those giant Hammond organs at home when I was a little kid. Quite the stories with that organ and my family lol

I can't speak for other VSTs and I don't know which experience people have when they say "this sucks, it's shit, blabla", but I played several real pianos, from chinese to Bechstein and Steinway and at least for Pianoteq I can say that is convincing even in solo performance (great too), but I had to tweak some parameter (dynamics mostly) to make it realistic.

First off, no real piano is same to the other, even the same brand, so saying "this sounds not like the real one" has a percentage of nonsense, even if there are recognizable patterns - in a perfect condition-.

Second, playing the VST with a non weighted keyboard or even different kinds of weighted keyboards makes a lot of difference. You have to close you eyes and forget to play a virtual piano and the (well calibrated) keyboard touch/feel is paramount.

Third, the weakest point af all: the environment.
I mostly use headphones, but when I hear it from (my bad) speakers it's utterly disappointing (it sucks).
The recording technique (room, reverb, eq) and the quality of audio reproduction is what really makes ANY instrument good, acceptable or bad.

I invited a friend of mine, a pro concert pianist and we spent several hours in testing and he agreed that it's very difficult to discern ther real from the virtual one.
I had a very bad experience with a Hammond.
I was invited from a guy who had this small Hammond (it could have been an L model by picture I saw), I played and after five minute it began to smoke and burn smell from the lower speaker cabinet, this guy went mad at me like if I used a flamethrower while I was just playing.
    Never again this old sht.

To be back in topic, maybe because of playing style or else the demos of this virtual guitar are not particularly interesting or realistic to me, but still I hope that one day physmod will take over on samples.

So, did he mean it in good way? Like, you can play longer, not get sick from it and save the planet?

I think he ment: -If it brakes , wich you will first notice when u stopped playing and "left the room" :bleh:, chances will be pretty big that you will get one (sometimes two) small Hammond(s) ( ..sort of baby-Hammond(s).
For free. With lifetime guarantee. No refund.

This and breaking guitar strings are two life mysteries for me. I don't know how you can make it happen by accident.

If u just pinch a tiny, tiny hole with a needle in the center of the still packed rubber...(some girls do such things) chances are big that it breaks just there, in the middle of the fun , and wraps around your head. And u don´t feel it , and u can´t see it. :woot:
...and ur thinking : aaaahhh ...Is that a good rubber !!!

For strings: - well ,also there can be a "weak point" (corrision, jack in the string ). as a guitar player for 30 years...it is seldom nowdays.

btw: were going really offtopic
