I just found this one and it sounds amazing. There was a physical-modeled guitar before, but it was not impressive. But this one sounds really convincing even though the bending sounds like a bit synth. The strumming sounds realistic.
Hope it will be released soon.

it's an admirable effort but it still sounds A LOT like a synth in my opinion (specially during vibratos) as a guitarist and keyboardist.

As physmod ELECTRIC guitar, there is also Iron Axe, really impressive, though dated (no x64).
Awaiting for this acoustic, seems promising.

This one is what I said "not impressive". It sounds ok though.

There is also AAS Strum GS-2.

It's modelling synthesis. Excellent. Some people claim that it doesn't sound correct. It is false, simply you have to tweak it correctly to fit at you ears, even when you use presets.

You can model as many guitars as you want, real or imaginary, with many parameters for the body, the neck, the bridge, the pickups, the piezos, the strings, the picks, etc. You can also imagine other instruments close to the guitar but different.

It is quite expensive ($200), but it contains in factory more than 100 acoustic guitar presets and more than 150 electric guitar presets, and with many MID files for strums and other articulations. And there are many additional banks (currently 12 for a total of more than 1300 presets). And of course you can make your own guitars and your own presets.

After years and years to use several sample based guitars and other physically modeled guitars it is since 2017 now the only guitar plugin I use for all my guitar works (when I don't use my real Squier), making my own guitars (and strange instruments close to sitars, kotos, harp guitars, etc.) when I don't find what I want within the plethora of presets.

A last note: AAS does quite often per year a great discount of 50% on their instruments.

I've found the difficulty with realism with guitars often lies more in the controller. Same with sax and violin. You can play almost any crappy guitar sample with a Roli Seaboard and it'll sound great.

Yeah, I haven't pulled the trigger but I will eventually. I have played one. It becomes natural very quickly.

Yeah if currency picks up on my end then I will definitely get it and not care about price. I played one in store that they had hooked up to software on a pc in the production room of it felt nice to the touch. As in, it had a different material on the keys, almost felt-like but much glidier and smoother. Not sure what it's made of though.

It also does grow on you quick, definitely agree. Sat there for a good 45 mins trying different instruments while trying to imagine how to emulate playing each one. It is kind of a game changer, just wish you didn't have to be billed so damn much.

The function of Strum GS-2 is great, but the sound is way far from real guitars. What I'm currently using are just Ample Guitars and Shreddage. They are most realistic on the market. But they eat too much room of hard drive and the room is almost full because of them.
So, I've been waiting for physical modeling guitar, but the recent technology hasn't been good enough to make it. But, AI has changed so many things. Thus, my expectation is around the corner, I guess.

As usual, guitarists like me will hear how it sounds "fake".
Like the famous synth powerchord samples on a lot of electro music.

For now, the most realistic banks i heard where sample based Kontakt with scripts (i don't use them ...i play guitar).

And Shreddage, I would assume. I've done very good things with Shreddage.

I tried it and wasn't impressed at all.

As a synth, it's mostly OK but even the demo songs on their site don't sound convincing.

Unless you plan to tweak it for hours and that you are as talented as the guy demo'ing it on their site, there's no way it will sound like the real thing.

Pianoteq is at least a step in the right direction.

If you start learning today, you will be able to play guitar some day in the future and they still won't have the virtual thing sounding real.

The first note didn't finish and immediately I thought fake sounding.

I've tried all sorts of solutions because I went from playing 25+ years to focal dystonia pretty quickly and it sucked. I've recently picked it up again but I still have lingering dystonia so it hasn't been easy. In my head I'm awesome, I remember everything, but physically a couple of my fingers fight me. Plus the 8 years off, I got a lot work to do. All of solutions I've tried, including those per-string, ect sample libraries, don't sound that great, imo, for anything more complicated than a few spaced out notes. Some of the acoustics stuff is a little better I think, if you're a good keys player.

At the very least I can play some simple stuff and the important thing is that it sounds like an actual player so that's worth it alone. I'd sooner get a friend, hire someone, of just use sampled riffs. Hope they figure it out though. It would have helped me tons to have a tool like that.
