(Running a cracked version of Live 11.1.5 on Windows 11 22h2, 16gb RAM, Ryzen 7 5800x, using FlexASIO drivers)

When Ableton crashes, it hangs in my task manager suspended, and it seems to keep eating up RAM for awhile. Clicking 'End Task' gives me an 'Access Denied' error prompt. I've tried killing it from admin powershell - doesn't work.

It also rarely ever prompts me to recover my set upon relaunch after a crash, which has caused me to lose hours worth of work.

(Kontakt 7.1.5 seems to just pretty frequently just crash me to my desktop like this, which is extremely annoying)

The most frustrating part is that when Ableton crashes with my MPC plugin loaded onto a track, I can't use my MPC in controller mode (With MPC beats 2.11.7) until I restart my computer entirely. If I open the plugin or MPC beats in standalone it tells me "MPC is already running - you can only have one instance at a time".

I'm PRETTY sure what's happening is - since Ableton doesn't fully close, and sits suspended in the task manager, the MPC software is still flagged as running/being open in that hanging instance of Ableton, and preventing another instance from running. Since turning off my PC entirely is the only way I know how to kill the hanging Ableton process, I have to restart to be able to run it again.

Anyone else have anything like this happen with Ableton?
Would updating to 11.2.7 maybe help?
I don't really want to reinstall/re-set up everything if I don't have to, but I'm at a loss here, and pulling out all of my god damn hair.

thanks in advance for any advice

It has happened to me also, but not so frequently: smth crashes Live, then I manage to close it, then it does not start again because it is hanging in some process in the task manager, and it does not close (only if I re-start the computer). Well, I cannot help you, just to inform you that it also happens to me from time to time.
I think Ableton is not really optimized for live performance (what is baffling): it is not light on the CPU, and it is moody with plugins and maxforlive devices. But I love the workflow, some built-in effects and devices and the session view. So... I just accept it and try to keep things simple and avoid prone to crash plugins and situations (when I am able to spot them).

this happens, when you the UAC is not deactivated, you can do that via group policy because setting it to low in the account settings, wont work. also set your user account to admin, thats another thing, which could cause this. (for windows 10 and 11)

My Live 11 closes instantly if it crashes (it does almost never crash.)
