    Hi
Does any one have the issue that Ableton's LFO device takes a lot of CPU?

On a blank Live set, Live's CPU Load Meter is at 3%, 1~2% CPU usage in Task Manager.
Insert 10 LFO devices, Live's CPU Load Meter comes to 22%, 7~9 CPU usage in Task Manager.

    I'm currently on Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621.1105, my cpu is R9 3900XT, Ableton Live on 11.2.7.

Why are you "testing" this performance? There is almost nothing you can do about it. Put ten instances of Xfer LFO Tool/Shaperbox, etc. and see what that does in comparison... your results should probably be in the same ballpark. Or you could keep in mind the Ableton one is not light upon cpu and use it sparingly.

That's an interesting test. Indeed I wouldn't have expected an LFO to eat so much CPU but the only real test would be to use many instances in a real world arrangement and find out at which point and which audio buffer setting you get audio dropouts.

Yeah i didn't expect that either. I thought it was just an oscillator sending numbers from 0 - 1. The cpu load increased even nothing was mapped.

thats due to M4L, people already wanted a native cheap LFO device in Live, but ableton is not listening.
its due to selling a Max4Live additional no matter how bad the performance is.

i use LFO by Ableton very sparse, like 1-2 in a project.
