Arturia soundbanks help

Discussion in 'Software' started by Vincent Price, Feb 6, 2023.

  1. hello,

I have just downloaded a Arturia sound bank from this guy, https://reverbmachine.com/blog/beach-house-synth-sounds/

When I downloaded them the files name have things like .prox and .solx at the end of them but the Mac sees them as document files...how do I install these or convert them to the right format.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

Just open each Arturia V instrument individually and import each preset bank (click on upper left menu --- import)

    B-3 V2 - B-3 V2_Bank_Beach House Synths.b3v2x
    Prophet V3 - Prophet V3_Bank_Beach House Synths.prox
    Solina V2 - Solina V2_Bank_Beach House Synths.solx

Just tested and it works like a charm.

Thanks for the link, more presets for me!

  4. no, not working. please read what I said...Mac sees the files as a document, not unix executable

I perfectly understand what you wrote. Seems like you try to import/load the banks from the finder, and it will never work that way. You've got to:

    - OPEN your Arturia instruments: in this case B3, Prophet V3 & Solina V2

    - Go to the upper left menu IN THE INSTRUMENT INTERFACE and select "import" (the menu button looks like 3 horizontal bars)

    - Select the banks on your hardrive:
    B-3 V2 - B-3 V2_Bank_Beach House Synths.b3v2x
    Prophet V3 - Prophet V3_Bank_Beach House Synths.prox
    Solina V2 - Solina V2_Bank_Beach House Synths.solx

It works flawlessly, no difference between Mac or PC on the process, this is how Arturia software banks & presets import process works.

PS: english not being my native language, I may not be as clear and precise as I 'd like to.

  6. Yeah done that, can’t select any of them as they’re all greyed out

Strange, please post a screenshot, cause I don't really understand what's wrong with your system.

    https://support.arturia.com/hc/en-u...How-to-import-presets-in-V-Collection-titles-

There are 3 preset banks in the archive you mentioned in your first post.

Have you extracted the banks from the archive, as Arturia synths wont import files from within a .zip file?

Each one has to be imported in the corresponding synth, see my answers above.

Did the exact same on a friend's Mac this weekend and there wasn't any problem.

Just let me know if this works.

Gotta love it when you spend time helping people and they don't even bother to say if it worked or thanks.

Hi GreyMakesMusic - did you solve the problem with the presets being greyed out and not being able to import? I've got the same issue with some presets from reverbmachine - the files are being described as documents by MacOS and are greyed out. I'm doing everything that Le Steak suggest's. Any suggestions welcome, thanks!

  11. Yeah these are from reverbmachine too, I didn’t get it sorted

I have the latest Arturia versions, on Mac OS
I was able to install 2 of the 3; the Prophet presets are for an older version..
    Perhaps, check your versions?

Thanks both for your replies, I'm on the latest Arturia versions too (V Collection 9) on Mac OS. I naively thought they would be compatible with the newer versions of Prophet etc. I'm completely new to all this so at least it confirms to me I'm not doing something wrong! I've ended up playing around with the Prophet synth to get the sound myself and pretty much got there so its been a good learning experience with the software. Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

I am in the same situation (V Collection 9), and I figured it out. When I tried to import from the synth INSIDE Analog Lab V, the files appeared greyed out. When I opened the synth OUTSIDE Analog Lab V, the files appeared correctly and I was able to import. I hope this helps.
