Try input 1 & 2 on the front instead of 3 & 4 on the back see if that makes any difference make sure you tun the gain down first

Just as a matter of interest why have you stopped using Wavelab? That's what i use for transferring my Vinyl to WAV. or MP3 . Sometimes if it's not broken don't try and fix it.

I would try what @MRFEENIX suggested and see if there is joy there.

If not comeback and we can talk about ASIO drivers and MIXCONTROL.

Stuff like this is why I prefer the alternative OS to WIN, shit just works.

Have you turned the gains back up on the front?
With the mixer you can have the input level going into the red just not constant. If it flashes its ok if its solid all the time then no. Make sure you have that on the channel and on the main out meters .Then turn the gain up on the Pro till you see a signal.I just looked at this model mixer and TAPE OUT is where you need . If your still not getting anything make sure the TRIM isn't turned down you need it at 12 o'clock.I would maybe acquire Wavelab from the sister site and use that if you still can't get anything. I'm not 100% sure but I don't think Audacity uses ASIO Drivers .

I thought that Audacity supports ASIO as any other editor, but you're right, it seems that it's not allowed due to license matters, you have to recompile Audacity yourself to dodge the issue.

Regarding the recording question, it seems clearer now that the analogue routing is correct, and the issue is in the digital domain (I think).
I would try another editor, even in trial mode, just in case.

It doesn't have to be Wavelab, any DAW capable of capture will do the trick. Reaper in trial mode will work just as well. Though that might open up a whole new can of worms when it comes to understanding routing and channels for capture.

Seems you've got Audacity working try to up the gain on the channels and lower the gain on the mixer a bit. In this type of capture I like to consider yellow = red on the output module and input modules. Plenty of clean distortion free gain available once you've got it captured.

If you want to balance the inputs record a white noise or square wave in mono and run into a mixer channel. Balance left and right as close as you can using the gain knobs and Audacity's meters and call it a day.

I'm out .. I think I've covered everything .. I said Wavelab as Funkman used it originally so would have prior knowledge of the software. Hope you find a solution!! :)

Back again .. have you another source to test the interface is working like a mic ? If it's not working with wavelab either maybe the interface is the problem. Try a mic into the input 1 or 2 and see if you get a signal . The Pro might just not be working or try another USB cable?

OK now we are back to zero.

You need to select the correct inputs and use the monitoring functions for meters to register levels. I think is more of an issue of not understanding audio routing and channels between the interface and the audio editor than software or hardware not working properly. The audio interface could be dead but you getting levels in Audacity from ports 1+2 before changing to Wavelab seems to contradict that.

I always used Sound Forge on PC to record/rip vinyl records to mp3s and did hundreds of records that way with no issues ever. 1200s->vestax mixer-> Sound Forge. Very simple way of doing this, even though I also had Wavelab available the whole time too.

So easy. This thread is about 3 pages extra in length for something like this.

How about playing something hitting record and see what is recorded? See if there is any signal present?
