How Mixing Levels Look Like?

    I have one small specific question but I don't know if this is the same category as mixing levels.
    Sometimes when You have drum machine there is a situation.
    When you have some pattern and on the first bar is just kick and then on second bar kick is layered with something.
    And first kick is more heavy and second is weaker.
    Sometimes you have kicks with some plugins doing things live like compressors, saturators etc. and situation is even more worse.

    I need to record all the sounds from drum machine in separated tracks?
    I must add volume or something to the weaker kick on second bar? Use EQ?
    How to fix it?
