I'm looking for a plugin that identifies in real time what chord I'm playing on the keyboard.
Preferably a VST FX so I can keep the workflow going on while I look for that perfect 11th inversion.
    Any tip would be appreciated.

    Doesn't Scaler 2 do that?

Studio One does that by default if you happen to be using that? Cubase does too but not as well.

Your DAW might have something built in. If you use Reaper, there's a script I use for this. This looks to be how you do it in Cakewalk Sonar. I don't use that though, so can't confirm (also seems a little laborious for this).

Outside of that, there used to be one good free one called MidiChordAnalyzer, but i can't find it anymore. There's also Scaler. It will identify chords you play. Scaler, in general is a great tool to have.. do you have that, by any chance?

Edit: @Valnar beat me on the Scaler, suggestion, but yes, that does do it for sure.

I honestly thought it wasn't that simple. Cakewalk has indeed a built-in chord analyzer. (facepalm)
    Thankssss!

Not properly a dedicated chord identifier, but Pianoteq does that in real time, even open and complex ones.
However, I don't know how inversions are treated, because it's not set to a particular scale.

Scaler 2 does that, and also suggests scale from identified chords progression, I don't think you'll find anything better right now

Cthulu also has a chord detector afaik, that would make for a hilarious shootout - chord identifiers :D

Do you guys know which chord detection software those YT jazz gurus use in their tutorials? You know what I mean right?
