    Hello everybody,

is it possible to install WIN10 22H2 or WIN11 over WIN10 20H2 without reinstalling all my PC because i couldn't update my PC (always Error code: (0x8007000d) ? i've read that is quite impossible because of drivers or devices conflict. Thank you for your advice !

WIN10 20H2 is the most stable version of W10 currently and everything music related works in it as far as I know, so why update? Is there something you use that doesn't work properly? AFAIK you could update 20H2 to 22H2, but updating it to W11 is too complex (are you sure your PC is compatible with it?) and best to do a fresh installation of it.

ok thank you SineWave, you're right for stability but it's about my Korg Wavestate, i can't make it work, it's a nightmare : when i update network adapter / microsoft usbncm driver in my manager device it says : "driver successfully installed" and when i return in it "no driver installed no driver info" so the communication is KO with Korg Librarian or updater says always "waiting for device" / i could used it as a controller midi but it is not very cool...

That's good to know. I was interested by the Korg wavestate, but now that I read this, it's a no go.
Manufacturer should better think about what are really using their clients instead of following big enterprises stream. But I'm not suprise to see this from Korg. I bought a controller from them recently and it was so hardly prepared in it's default settings that I had to program it all over again, but that would be for another thread.

So your fundamental problem is how to make Korg Wavestate drivers work with Windows 10 22H2 rather than update windows right?

yes it is Olymoon, with WIN10 20H2. But, it works for people, not for me...it is a very good synth but connection is very hard sometimes...i don't know why, other synth hardware work with no problem. It works with my last PC...but i've to change it.

How to Fix Update Error 0x8007000D in Windows 10/11?
    https://appuals.com/windows-update-error-0x8007000d-windows-11/

    1.) USB
You can connect the wavestate to computers via USB, to send and receive
MIDI and to organize sound data with the wavestate Librarian.

    MIDI
The wavestate is a class-compliant USB MIDI device, and requires no driver for MIDI functionality.

    Librarian
The wavestate Librarian supports macOS and Windows, and is available as a download from www.korg.com.
For more information, please see the documentation included with the Librarian.

    Source: Wavestate Manual PDF

    2.) Wavestate/System Updater 2.1.1 / 2022.07.28 / ZIP : 96.4 MB
    www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/0/840/

    3.) System requirements
Operating system: Windows 7 SP1 or later, including Windows 8, 10, and 11. 64-bit versions only; 32-bit versions are not supported.
ouch panel operation is not supported.

To use the wavestate Editor/Librarian, you need a wavestate running software version 2.0.1 or later, a USB cable, and a USB-capable Mac or Windows computer that satisfies the system requirements. For Windows, NCM or RNDIS networking must be configured as described in the documentation for the wavestate Updater and Editor/Librarian.

    4.) NCM configuration

I understand but , if you are interested, we can try to find the way to make it work without installing win 11 version.
Or are there more reasons for you to update to win 11?

Yes. Make a bootable 22H2 Win 10 Enterprise USB thumb drive and install it while you're still logged into your currently installed OS. Choose the option that retains your files & folders.

I successfully did this when I wanted to do an in-place upgrade from Win 10 Enterprise LTSC 2016 to Win 10 Enterprise 21H1 - registry, files folders etc. did not change at all. Recommend a {GEN2} release; specifically, Windows 10 X64 22H2 10in1 OEM ESD en-US OCT 2022, which includes Win10 Ent.

    Troubleshooting Connections
If you run finddevice.exe on all connected devices and cannot find them, check the following:

    - Make sure you have met the requirements listed above.
    - Verify that your device appears in Device Manager on your host PC.
    - The device should be displayed under Network Adapters.
    - The device name is "UsbNcm host device".

Your host PC's firewall may be blocking communication between your host and your device:
    - Create a rule to allow finddevice.exe communication.
    - Enable the rule for domain, private, and public network types.

Hi, I had the problem that my notebook did not find the wavestate. All solutions found on the internet were not helpful.
From the support I got the following. Tip, which worked:

Regarding your concern, I would like to inform you that for the operation of the WAVESTATE USB MIDI interface, the KORG USB MIDI
driver is not needed, because the Wavestate USB Midi connection uses the Class Compliant Midi driver of Windows.

However, the device entry "Wavestate 1" (from Wavestate version v1.06), or the device entry "Generic-USB-Midi" (older Wavestate
version) should be displayed in the device category "Audio/Video/Gamecontroller" of the Windows Device Manager.

The device entry USB-Audio points to a problem in the transmission of the device identifier of the Wavestate. There is a need for action here. We recommend to right-click the USB-Audio device entry in the Windows Device Manager and to use the function UNINSTALL in the context menu.

Then restart Wavestate and check if the device entry Wavestate-1 or Generic-USB-Midi is displayed instead of the USB-Audio device entry. However, if the USB-Audio entry remains, it is recommended to reset the flash memory in Wavestate and then install Wavestate system version v1.06 first, followed by system update v2.10.

The CDC-NCM device entry refers to the USB network connection that is required on the Wavestate for bi-directional data transfer of the memory data between the KORG tool SAMPLE BUILDER and the WAVESTATE Editor/Librarian program, as well as for the application of the Wavestate System Updater. Here you have to manually assign the associated Microsoft network adapter driver "USB-NCM-HOST" to the CDC-NCM entry. So you have to change the Wavestate to USB Network: NCM

In the meantime I had upgraded a notebook to Windows-11, which also helped.

1.) Fixing Korg USB Midi driver issues in Windows 10 & Windows 11 in 2022
    https://thedigitallifestyle.com/w/2...iver-issues-in-windows-10-windows-11-in-2022/

Back in 2019 the Windows 10 May 2019 Update broke Korg’s USB drivers causing DAWs and sound editors not to work with Korg devices. The problem was caused by midi slots in Windows and I had a fix for the issue using a few registry changes. Since then, Korg have updated the USB drivers and this shouldn’t be issue but some people are still having the problem. I thought I would update my video and give you links to the latest Korg driver. The best place to download the latest Korg Windows drivers are from Korg’s download site.

So here is my updated video of fixing Korg Windows 10 & Windows 11 driver issues, I have included my original video showing how to do the registry changes.

2.) How to get the KORG MIDI USB Driver to work with Windows 10

Windows is unable to recognize a USB-MIDI device.

If you have already connected 10 MIDI devices to your PC, a new device may not be recognized.

Because Windows assigns the driver for MIDI devices by USB port, it is possible to exceed 10 registered MIDI devices even if you have not connected that many unique devices.

Please use the KORG MIDI Driver Uninstall Utility included in the KORG USB - MIDI Driver and remove MIDI devices until there are less than 10.

Would never recommend a Microsoft update to anything. Their updater philosophy put into practice makes for messing up more stuff than it fixes in the long run. If you want to go to a different os make a complete backup IMAGE of your current os. Pave the system and REBUILD the new os from the ground up. Then restore the pieces and parts you need from the old system to the new one. It's not going to solve your update's issues but then again win update shouldn't be running on a production box in the first place...
