    Please any of you Guitarist want to take a stab at it.. its a very short loop 20 Sec.. Or Click Here Drop Box

    Hey Gents.. I have some 3rd party Wav Guitar loops and don't have a very good ear.

    However.. I can pick up some power chord structures,but not to good on guitar picking arrangements..

    I like to learn those notes so I don't sound like i'm using a loop..

    I like to know where the guitar notes are on these wav file.

    ??...Is there a program that can convert that Guitar wav audio to guitar tablature.

    Thx so much for your help if you can..

    In case you dont find a good one, you could get a Wav to Midi prog
    then a Midi to Tab prog :wink:

    I've never found these Wav to midi converters 100% reliable.
    Id suggest training your ears for it. It will help you 1000x in the long run.

    I usto write loads of guitar pro tabs (just for fun) and from that I've developed really good ear abilities (Play by ear without effort, relative and perfect pitch).
    Its made everything else so much easier. And there ears are the best thing for transcribing.

    Goodluck anyway! The programs should atleast help to some extent.

    Ahh Ive used Widi. I actually used it for a different reason.

    I was using that and A stock reaper plug in, to use my guitar to record midi. Was kinda cool xD
    Was triggering orchestral songs by playing my guitar!

    BTW!
    I came across this, this is one option for you

    Celemony Melodyne
    also many apps now on Iphone and Android like
    Chord Detect
    Guitar Vision
    WhatKey
    StarLicks
    I have a personal hatred for the Widi people because of the limitations on Widi Vst which made me nauseous. (sound cut out every fifteen seconds).
    Of course Finale and Sibelius can tab out midi (maybe wav), as can Guitar Pro.

    and Band in a Box

    There are many programs for audio-to-midi conversion. It is not a secret they don't function well and it is not a secret also that Celemony Melodyne is the best one among all of them (they even received a grammy for technical something). The problem is, generally, polyphony. The demands of all these programs are: clear mono recording, without noise. The more polyphony the worse the result. In short... For midi-to-tablatures you will have to find an additional program...

    has anyone tried the JAMORIGIN guitar > midi software?

    It's *meant* to be able to pick out chords and convert to MIDI (regardless of source material) but drdark2 is correct no one has nailed the chord detection process as far as I'm aware

    Wav to MIDI suffers because of the complexity of what is asked to do which is to identify and isolate all the different instruments in the song, choose one instrument and transcribe it. The best analogy I have heard is that its like taking a cake and converting it back to its original ingredients: eggs, flower, sugar, etc.

    The easy approach is to loop the section with the notes u want to learn, then match the first one by playing up and down the neck till you find it, then the next and so on.
    You will find that with practice and logic, it comes easier each time you try.
    If you are talking about arp's of chords and working out the picking order, the same thing applies.

    There really isn't an automated solution to this that works any better than exercising your ear until you get better at it.
    And even if there was, what if the loop you are trying to pick notes out from was in a different tuning from standard?
    The program wouldn't know and would spit out tab that may be alot harder or impossible to play.

    Excuse me, duskwings... But the kid was asking for audio-to-midi software... I don't rip music at all anymore nor do I play fixed music; I am learning to improvise completely. I've experimented with melodyne couple of times before, because I don't have a nice guitar and mic, so I was curious of what would it sound like if I'd transcribed my playing into midi and used vsti: it doesn't work, of course, and that was my point here; but if you're so confident about your skills, challenge me for a duel and I will post my composition for guitar and you post yours; because "sometimes u people really disappoint me"; hmm, watch what you're saying, just because you're "advanced member" doesn't mean you can compose brilliant music...

    I never got to see the first tabs suggestion, but Duskwings got it spot on.
    Im just not 100% sure of the positioning of it. Melody wise its perfect, and it would be playable there.
    Just the G to F# seems out of place on that string. It has more of a rung out tone. So the changing notes doesnt seem right.
    Guess add some delay/verb and your fine.

    But you wanted this to program it in midi anyway I believe?

    EDIT-
    Upon listening again, That positioning may well be right. The player just has a really smooth style and it sounds like the F# rung out a lot longer than it actually does.
    Plus, there are no positions that could fix that issue unless you used a capo. or really long fingers :rofl:

    i wasn t sure about the position too,but it s the one that makes more sense although i agree that it seems to be played on the first three strings at the fifth fret

    Very nice! (in the first video)

    It that finger picked? Sounds like it is =)
    But the fast runs are pretty advanced for finger picking. (not that I'm doubting you xD) :mates:

    From one musician to another, If I had to nit pick at something, Try to develop it more slowly, and varied. As nice as it is, it does begin to feel a bit repetitive. (Also due to the backing track ofcourse).

    Yeah I had that in mind too about possible positions (Higher up would throw it)
    But the span from 2nd fret F# to the 8th fret G is a bit much to keep smooth.

    However I at first thought it was played across 3 strings throughout.

    Arpeggios would be...

    E||-----------------------------------------------||
    B||--------10-------7-------10-------7-------7----||
    G||-----12-------12------12-------12------12---12-||
    D||--12-------12------12-------12------12---------||
    A||-----------------------------------------------||
    E||-----------------------------------------------||

    But I dont have a guitar at hand, so I can't tell if 7 to 12th fret is too much. It does seem semi reasonable though. This is how I would play it.
