Stop Reaper from scanning Plugin folders?

    1) Stop Reaper from scanning Plugin folders?

    Not sure if this is possible, well it would save me alot of time, because i do scan anyway when reaper is full loaded or sometimes not, when there was nothing changed in the plugin - but reaper keep still checking.

    is there a way to still modify it or to set any debug-setting to let reaper to ignore it.

    2) some kind of zooming feature for plugins - sometimes they are so huge on my screen here and easily no way to handle them.

    appreciate your tips and ideas! :wink:

    Hmm that's tricky question, ArticStorm. :dunno:
    Reaper should not scan the VST folder if there weren't any changes in it. Mine does it that way. Try Clear cache/Rescan.
    And about zoom, I believe that function was not implemented yet. The only thing you can do is resize the FX window. :(

    Is there a setting (tick box) to automatically scan on start-up or not?

    Perhaps not (for VST), but you can disable scanning for DX (but not many people have/use VST).

    I beleive you want a faster startup for R, is that correct?

    If applicable, move samples & presets out of the folder that R scans for VSTs. This will make R launch (slightly) faster.

    I once installed samples & presets for my synths & samplers into my VST folder, this was doubling my launch time because R was scanning every file.

    dont think so - nothing forund in the manual. :(


    yes i want a faster a faster startup.
    reaper checks only for *.dll so far i know - so rename it to *.dll_ will bypass scanning. (got tired of that :S )

    Mine only scanned once and only adds extra plugins when added

    This was all at default settings

    Mine only scans changes aswel.

    It takes like... 0 time to load if there is nothing new.

    Even if there is a new one, it scans it for like 20 seconds tops. And never again.
