If your reffering to what sounds like a square wave with a bit of fm and distortion at 1.16 its easy
I ran the file you sent too and thats not it
it just sounds like a square wave with distortion and some fm with evelope shaping, it really is an easy sound to mimic

it sound almost like a breakbeat cut up and a lot of processing. the little vocal snippet in there is from a break. If you take a small number of samples in Kontakt or Falcon on their own individual root notes; but next to one another, you can insert a transposer, automate it and it will sound like the clicking of a fader as it jumps between the individual samples.

Did you try in FM8 just switching operators

    Thanks for your reply!
I tried what you said and more but i cant get even close to this sound.
I checked some stuff from noisia and its probably them who made this sound. They use fm8 a lot so i'll watch some fm8 vids on youtube for something similar.

Fm8/serum it really is an easy patch to program,
Its an fm8 or serum square/hybrid square wave,
havnt posted for a long time on here so have to remember how to uplad a file,
    I,ll recreate it on fm8 n serum n demonstrate
Id not categorise it as an fm choppy sound, even though its quite possibly fm8,
Its essentially a square, a normal square ,via fm or va/wavetable synthesis
If what noisia uses is key then Albinos a heavyweight trust me

I'm not sure we're talking about the same individual sound. but I would also look in Phaseplant if I was guessing at the synth origin. A lot of modern or vintage sounding good FM sound design is done in either FM8 or Dexed. It's so close to using Phase Distortion synthesis that it's just as likely as source. You could probably do this with the DSP56300 emulator also. ram-a, b-squared bc.

well indeed i could be incorrect
i assumed he meant the 3 stabs at 1.16, sounds like its resampled and the first 2 stabs dont sustain throughout the entire note where the third stab does.
the first 2notes heard are more designed as short sharp hit and doesnt follow the original samples duration

this is where i was perplexed because at exactly 1.16 theres 2 short sharp stabs followed by a third kinda full Hybrid Sq bass stab.

I've only listened a couple times at it. but it sounds like it was a "turnaround" that got like bitcrushed, downsampled, on 4 notes. the click being there doesn't really matter, but it could be a tipoff to it's origin. you could do that in a pass of latch automation using Logic Remix FX or whatever in Cubase is similar multi-effect. You could approach it like filter house, where they will bounce 4 separate slices of audio with the corresponding parameter trick, the way the used to do before one-knob plugins like Endless Smile. Could even be that. Last preset to the end. Automated per 1/4.

That is correct, the 3rd stab has the sound in the first two plus a bass stab layered to it. Its these stabs that im trying, not the little bass thats layered on the third.

I'd be grateful if you do , thanks for your help!
