Sounds great as is! Nice track!
Not sure if it's "missing" but I would maybe add an atmospheric pad to fill it out a bit more in some areas but that's just me and my own ears.

First of all DPA, I wanna praise you because you're one of the people who share their music on here and I don't have a feeling to, excuse my french, "shit" on it because there's a ton of potential in your stuff and you have a good grasp of proper arrangement.

As for what I think of the mix, I think it could benefit from even more depth. I like the panning but this track could benefit from even more atmospheric textures sorta like The Weeknd's stuff, so definitely try experimenting with pushing some things back in the mix if u can.

Also, I'm not a big fan of the processing of your vocals. I'd rather have more clarity on them than have them sort of mushed like they are right now. You can still get the same vibe but dial it down a little. It will clean up your track a lot too.

At 2:38 the e-guitar note is a little sharp so you might wanna re-track that.

For the chorus, you can record doubles for your vocals. You already got the adlibs going so that's good.

All the best to your track.

hi and thank you. How would I go with doubling on the chorus? Full left full right ? Also will it cause phase issues if I slightly delay one?

No, I mean record a double if you can. :)

Yeah a fully panned left and right backup vocal will carry the chorus further. Remember to line them up to the lead a bit if you want them lush but as long as you sing in time it'll be fine

i'm not gonna judge the artistic side of it, cause i think that it is perfectly balanced

on the technical one, i have to say that it has a lot of compression bro, i literally have my computer audio on '20' and still sounded loud as shit. that alongside the excessive treble in some parts is what i would fix

Good Job and thanks for sharing. Try taking out some of the "metallic" harshness with the use of Soothe or something alike in your vocals chain. I'll share my fav YT Channel which is literally a goldmine for tips&tricks and how to's. Look up: Sage Audio. You're welcome!

This as well. It’s very common for people to simply shelf around 8-12k but what many don’t realize is that you can create harshness this way. It’s normal to do a bit of a dip/cut in the 4-8k range. And yes, soothe or dseq will help catch resonances you’ve missed well, just don’t dial them too hard which will ruin your vocal

imo, you're close to a very good track and mix. I miss some variation, something more happening in the song, vocal or instrumental.
Mixwise, it could have a little more low-end.

It is abrasiveness in this range usually caused by little artifacts of compression or over compression. (already mentioned). People always mention Soothe in the situation, or DSEQ; but another to consider in the situation is FabFilter Pro-DS. Many people think that De-essing to remove Sibilance is only relative to vocal S sounds. It can be so useful to De-Ess guitars, synths, anything where it is applicable. It should go without saying you can overdo it, too. It such an inaudible change at the track level, but it can also be summed across many different channels depending on where compression was initially applied.
