How can 30+ producers work in a single album?

So I was checking this album's credits: this
And I noticed there are more than 30 producers involved in different tracks. How do you get to produce something like this in terms of resource management? Are tracks outsourced and then put together in a final mix by the chief producer? Maybe they all work for the same label and have specific assignments for every track?

What would be a reasonable workflow for this? is it common?

    yes.

the guy from the label (A&R, Artists and Repertoire) make the call, not the producer. He is like the "Project Manager" or some sort but answering to label high ups. He/she (or his team) schedule the recording and decide on everything else. He picked the producers for specific task, people that he is know can do what he wants. You want this type of vocal sound, you go to this guy, the track too dull need something to spark it up, go to this guy, things like that.

The "producers" just do what he is told. Producers may suggest things but that's it. The original producer that involves in the songwriting kinda have access to all but the authority he has depends on how big he/she/they is/are even if he wrote the damn song, the writer(s) don't own the song at this point. The one that put things (project files) together most of the time is the mixer, also working with guidelines from the A&R guy. The mixer then suggest the mastering guy, but the label guy make the call whether they will go to him or not.

From my few depressing experience working with major label here as an assistant mixer, few mixers are given opportunity to mix and the label will pick one that he likes and then continue to refine and finish it. Sometimes ideas from one mixer are picked and moved to the main mixer. The one that didn't get selected but got his idea picked still given some "points" (it is the royalty system) in credits for it, also name. Everyone that directly involves then share the points from as low as 0.1 to 5 in royalty but not sure about the math. If you didn't get picked for anything, you get nothing. Half of the people involved sometimes get nothing because they are people that did it better than them for that task, because few people are picked for it, not just one.
    no.

It may vary in other country, but roughly it is like that. It's shite and you need to suck a lot of dicks to be in the circle jerk. Don't ever get involve in shit like this if you don't know the people you are dealing with, these people are basically psychopath with zero remorse. You don't have to listen to me, thanks.

Each featured artist can have multiple people involved for that vocal recording (the recording engineer in the studio, mixing engineer studio, then a producer that makes final tweaks ITB for that artist. Then you have various producers that only provided sounds & beats. Then you have to credit anything that the main producer sampled for the album. Say you sampled a 4-bar loop, you will credit the producer, composer if the case, recording engineer, mixing engineer, ITB mixing engineer.

as music now days is intensely sampled, is very easy to reach an absurd amount of credits

Probably literally that. And maybe some girlfriends, who knows... lawyers... anybody that needs to get paid on the downlow will be listed as a "producer".

Looks like there was 3-4 different producers and mixers for each track. Each producer would have different roles per song. One producer world do vocals. One would do drum machines, samplers, and synthesizers. The last producer would do guitars and acoustic instruments. When Duran Duran stated to work on their Future Past album they had 6 producers. Duran Duran ended up working with only two. with the Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight album the using of groups of producers and mixers for each track does no surprise that the amount is 30 +

i dont know about that artist but good for him if he can pay them all heheh

    but speaking in general :
theres nothing wrong with collaborating with 30 plus producers on
    single project/album/even 3 min single

the latest songs from current world cup in qatar proves that
you have talents from all around the world producing it
some might do work on lyric/speed of lyrics also they provide the language of arabian/indian/english/and female rap
others works on musical aspects (adding latin beat mix with bouncing lead and so on )

its really nice to hear producers and artists unite on 1 song for the world to enjoy or to support a cause like unicef and children

and who can forget ''let it be '' and '' e are the world '' with everyone singing his/her part

the world today need to unite through songs /events and social events

producers today need to collaborate more and more no matter if it was 1 song or full album or help mixing all is good

By adding my 2 cents to your thread I demand 1 1/2% off the front end and producer credit. I'm well known here, cozy with the moderators and Saint is my mother's cousin's brother in law, so if you ever want to have posting rights again I'd seriously take up my offer.

The music world is interesting, isn't it? Two things I remember that surprised me.
    1. When Avril Lavigne received her Grammy for best song, all seven songwriters came on stage for the award. Seven? For a 3-minute song? Yep.
    2. Madonna's "Music" single took the producer six months to create. Man, at that pace, if he was doing her entire album, it would've taken four years.

There's always some "magic plugin" or " Steve Jones used the van and stole the instruments" story. I worked night and day for 6 mo straight on one song!. "I chased bruno mars for 6 mo to get him to listen", " if this guy hadn't missed his flight" etc etc etc. When in reality the producer had about 20 going at one time. Or whatever.

there is a tutorial about this song, that I like a lot (both the song and the tutorial) Sorry but I forget the video name.

So what are you called if you make music alone in your room with cracked vsts and an old computer?

This was the kind of answer I was expecting. My guess was that there's a 'project manager' who organizes everything and is responsible for the delivery of the final product (which in turn has to comply with the label expectations). Everything cascades down from there.

That's a pretty cool fact. Hey, you might have heard my name, I changed the lyrics of Sk8ter Boy in "Dedication" instead of "Inspiration".

WC Qatar 2022 has many songs but I get your point. My favorite is this one despite many people dislike it. And it's a hell of a mix of genres, styles and cultures. Amazing 'multi'-production.

Watched a few minutes and it seems to answer some of my questions. Gotta listen to the full interview. Thanks!
