Year End Accounting - User Survey

    3 Questions for you:

A: What DAW (digital audio workstation ) do you mainly use?
B: Which operating system do you use: Windows: macOS or Linux?
C: Which software company do you use the most and which company is the best for you?

At the end of the survey (1.1 2023) we want to evaluate the results and make a clear statement.

Since people will reach for different things depending on what they make, might be good to include genre in your survey too!

    (Genre: Pop [Synth-pop & Electro-pop], R&B/Hip-hop, Experimental)

    A: Logic Pro X
    B: MacOS Monterey (M1 Pro)
C: Difficult to say just one company as different ones give me what I need, but if it's really just one >>>>>
    - Most used software company for Instruments:
Tied between Arturia [Synths] and NI [Libraries] (usage depends on the project)

    - Most used software company for Audio FX:
Fabfilter (The usage of Q 3 alone shoots this company to the top since it's the first EQ I reach for)

    - All other software companies that are important/crucial to my workflow and needs
(Plugin Alliance, Valhalla, Ample Sound, XLN Audio, u-he, Toontrack, Soundtoys, Overloud, Xfer, TAL, iZotope, Wavesfactory, Tone Projects, Kilohearts)

A: Reaper DAW (this year there have been so many crucial feature updates, I can really start recommending it for serious audio business now)
B: MacOS (mostly Catalina and Big Sur, no rush forward)
C: HW: Synology (NAS helped me become independent of OS platform, streamline my DAW projects organization, libraries and installers etc... so much I do take it as most useful "audio" company this year)
C: SW: Fabfilter (they provided full native Apple Silicon support on all their older plugins, and among first already approved their plugins for new MacOS Ventura compatibility, they are the example of how audio plugin company should behave)

I'll be re-evaluating my initial thoughts on new MacOS Ventura once hacktintosh opencore community settles on some guides and guidelines,

I feel like there isn't much room for improvement in audio software anymore, I'll be investing more time into exploring what I already have, instead of hoarding more stuff, looking forward to how post-covid, and war/energy situation makes sw/hw manufacturers rethink the priorities of business in 2023

    Win10 x64.
FabFilter,, u-He, Tokyo Dawn Labs and Wavesfactory. Dan Worrall isn't involved, I learned about him because of these devs. Also Synapse Audio DUNE. Special mention goes to Voxengo MSED. I use it literally everywhere.

    A. Pro Tools 2019.10
    B. Windows 11
    C. Mainly UAD and Waves, sometimes Sonnox (envolution and transmod). Honestly I have everything I need with these companies. Surely there will be other DAWs and plugins that are better, and certainly more performing, but I personally manage to create my projects very quickly and with very satisfying results this way.

C: Hate both NI an PA, replaced most of my legit with R2R to avoid complication but I'm depending too much on their stuff now which I also hate.
