Hello,

I'm new Bitwig Studio 4 user (version 4.4.3, lastest in date).

Something seems wrong concerning MIDI CC assignments from both KOMPLETE KONTROL S61 MK2 and Arturia BeatStep Pro.

MIDI CC assigns are really a pain, most of the time, Bitwig doesn't detect them.

1/ When I use VST (2/3), I can do a MIDI learn on certain (published) parameters, via its modulation device (but not directly on VST, even if the relevant VST plugin have its MIDI Learn feature).

2/ The main problem IMO is Instrument Selector device (provided by Bitwig), assuming it as useful feature for live performance. So I've added some (VST) instruments inside it, but as soon as I want to control the selector via MIDI CC, the MIDI Learn doesn't detect any controller (either KK and BeatStep Pro). Only modulation wheel (CC 1) can be assigned, but not pots (all are sending MIDI CC).

I precise I don't have these "MIDI CC learn" issues inside REAPER (and Ableton Live Lite).

Is Bitwig specialist here can help me?

But it's not user friendly IMHO.

 

Concerning Bitwig issues contact Bitwig support, they will help you. There are plenty of bugs that are being fixed and need to be reported as well. I don't think this is one of them, I haven't had such behavior.

 

Yep, I've already contected Bitwig support (waiting for reply) this morning (France time).
At the moment, I'm using 30-Day Demo before buy (planned 10 Dec, because -100 € promo).

I've found the solution via this page, okay now it works.
But I persist, the MIDI Learn button (visible in Inspector, when I select Instrument Selector device) doesn't have effect - scanning, even when I turn pot from KOMPLETE KONTROL S61 or BeatStep Pro
