OK, SO i have been using S1 quite frequently... I had made a nice template as my default and saved it...

at some point, I threw a guitar midi on a track, added Realguitar... decided to drag in a loop \ .wav for a beat ...

well.. No idea what I'd done.. but it was certainly not matching the DAW tempo... and I have no idea what I might have done to change this behavior... never had a problem tempo matching loops before.

anyway.. I deleted the template.. and am just using 'Empty song" one that is standard in S1.... everything is fine.

So... then I installed S1 remotely on my Bro's PC.. Im showing him how to use it.. remotely.. over Team Viewer... and same thing.. using any of the built in song templates, for whatever reason none of the waves I drag in are tempo matched.

Anything I use as a template DOES have the 'Stretch to song Tempo" checked, and I cant find any other setting in S1 that would cause loops to be out of sync.

Hopefully someone knows the answer to this. :dunno:

    Thanks in advance folks. :mates:

Is it incorrect metadata with the wav file/loop? I had a similar problem a few months ago, with certain wav / loops (some sample library I had obtained from the dark side) not syncing correctly to time, S1 was not reading the tempo from its metadata tag. :dunno:

Actually I haven't solved it... some loops are stretching correctly and some aren't.... :dunno:

Now, I know in some daws everything can be time-stretched like LIVE and I thought Studio ONE also... and in some, only Acidized waves are time stretched and any normal waves have to be fixed\converted.

For example in Sonar.. a normal wave must be made into a 'groove clip' for it to sync to Daw tempo.

Can anyone tell me why some loops are not syncing in Studio One.. but most.. are? :dunno:

right click wav you can edit tempo, also try export stem and then place that back into your song

Hello there, your wrong tempo loops doesn't provide metadata, the simplest fix is just to right click the loop and where it say "no tempo" , just double click and insert the original tempo you might think the loop was by default (that way it will know automatically to strech to the project tempo. Verry Important, don't insert the project tempo in the right-click menu, just the ORIGINaL tempo of the loop itself, let's say your project is 110BPM and the sample is 75 and is not stretched automatically while you drop it in the arrangement view. Just right click that sample/loop and insert in the "no tempo" field, the original tempo of the loop, the 75)

because they dont have the tempo on them ...u must go to the inspector and add it manually and then it will sync automatically ....try to make use of metronome and with Alt pressed adjust till you loop it right

As long as all audio tracks are set to "Timestretch" in the inspector they will follow the song tempo changes without changing the pitch. The files do need a root tempo reference though. Anything recorded in S1 will already have that reference. If you imported files that don't have a tempo reference, add it. You can do that from the context menu, for one clip or all clips, depending on what's selected at that time.

    Thanks guys.. good info :mates:

I guess Live is the only Daw that will truly tempo sync ANY loop.... the same loops syncs fine in live.

But I am diggin on S1 more and more since 2.6. :dancing:

may be the first DAW I actually buy.

Yes, if OneReason did this from start, every loop will timestretch automatically to the project tempo, but when it comes to the loops that doesn't contain the tempo information, he have to add it manually with just a simple right click (damn, S1 is damn fast no matter the problem)

Btw Mr. Reason 7, i added you, you can ask me questions about S1 when you face more problems. I'll be glad to help you *yes*

I never use timestrech, if i'm using a loop without knowin the right tempo (like Vengeance loop) i fit the loop to the right tempo bar using alt + dragin the end of the audio clip , hope it helps.

I know this is an old thread, and I have not read the whole thing. I think most DAWS will auto sync loops. Studio One will too but you have to activate the option with a checkmark. I am an acid pro user from long ago (before Sony bought it), and acid pro is the ground breaker for tempo calibrated loops (thus the term acidized). That term comes from sonic foundry's acid pro and is the industry standard. Most DAWS will play loops in sync immediately in "audition" mode. It seems that Studio One is the odd DAW that doesn't sync loops by default. it will as well if you activate it with a checkmark in the timestretch options. Odd that it is not defaulted to be on.

I believe there is an option to turn it on by default in the song templates. "tracks follow song tempo" or something like that.

Yes you can turn it on. If you need to (and you do) then it is not by default. That is my point. "By default" means you don't need to turn it on, because it is already on. By default.

I just checked it out to be sure. You only have to click the "tracks follow song tempo" box once. It then becomes the default behavior every time you start a new song (the box stays checked) even after a reboot...thus it becomes the "default" behavior.

In other words...you only need to click it one time...ever. It's just like setting up your audio interface or the file path for recording audio. One time setup and then it becomes the "default" for every new song. Get it? Such a silly thing to complain about.

    Yep same for me.
Studio One is the only DAW I've liked enough to cough up the coin for (after a couple of unhappy years using Logic 9)
