If i buy a subscription of a large sound library for only a month and then end my subscription is there anything stopping me from using those files indefinitely other than being "immoral". Is there a way these files can be tracked or would i be safe to continually using them in my work forever

It depends and varies from dev to dev.

Read the End User License Agreement (EULA). What you can and/or can not do, is specified there.

They won't be tracked, though depending on the service there might be some licensing mechanism that doesn't allow the "player plugin" to use it (like kontakt). If it's wav or something similar, yeah you can pretty much use it forever.

BUT...is it safe to use it in your work? Not completely if you're going to claim some kind of ownership over it. I really doubt any library dev will randomly accuse anyone of using unlicensed stuff, but if you get caught in some other legal issue like somebody accusing you of plagerism or whatever and you need proof of legitimate use of a library for some reason, then that could be bad.

As @mk_96 said, the player for the library probably won't work with it anymore. And you hardly won't be tracked.

But I'm not so sure about the need to prove your innocence (#presumption of innocence) but this may varies from country to country.
