Rammstein uses Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2, new video shows the sounds - October 4, 2022

Rammstein uses the Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2 Synthesizer plugin in the production, a new video shows the sounds from different songs.

Rammstein is one of the most famous rock/metal bands in the world. They are considered pioneers of the new German “Neue Deutsche Härte”. Besides fat, epic guitar sounds, Rammstein uses a lot of synthesizer sounds in their songs.

For example, in the song Radio from the self-titled album Rammstein (2019), you can hear a lot of synth and vocoder sounds inspired by the Kraftwerk area. These are played by keyboardist Christian “Flake” Lorenz using Nord keyboards on stage. In the studio, however, more software is used.

A new YouTube video reveals that Rammstein is a big user of the software synthesizer Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2. You can find many presets that are 1 to 1 the sounds you hear in the songs.

For example, the driving intro synth sounds of the song Radio is the preset Tribalism from the Omnipshere Factory Library. Or the patch “End of the Worldliness” is the main sound of the song “Ausländer”.

Furthermore, the epic intro atmosphere of the song Rammlied comes 1 to 1 from the patch Choral FX Avante Garde Rev. Looks like they are using presets from the factory library.
