Are they truly trials or do they just identity as trials? If they don't work at all maybe they are non-binary.

I just tried booting up all of the Overloud plug-ins I have installed (which is all of the GEM plug-ins except Tape Desk and Echoson), and I don't get a time-bomb. Weird that it only affects some users.

 

You can try using clash software to connect to VPN, maybe you will get the same result as me, I'm not sure if clash changed something, but I added hosts and I can still access www.overloud.com, I'm wondering if you guys are the same?

 

I wonder if making the activation files read-only would help.

 

The consequence of doing so is that all of them become trial versions directly, so it is not useful at all, and it feels like the plug-in will also detect whether the .ol2 file has been modified~

With a VPN this is possible.

 

I experienced this issue with VPN, even with the hosts patch engaged. I just came back to my normal IP and ran the keygen and everything worked back fine (not even reinstalled the plugs). Everything with hosts directory can eventually timebomb due the homecalling, so i try to run the patch and check if the hosts file added the adress in the endline. I was experiencing timebomb with MagicDeathEye from DDMF, the hosts patch wasnt working in my PC, so i needed to add manually to the file and the timebomb stopped. So is a good option to check if the hosts patch was apllied the correct way, if not, just add the adress manually

 

Or use something like tinywall to make sure only things you want connect to the internet.

 

I am 100% sure that this problem is related to my clash VPN, I don't know what VPN you are using, when I use tinywall, by default clash can't connect, at this time I can use overloud plugin without any problem, when I add exception to clash in tinywall and start the plugin again it starts Back to the trial version, it will automatically delete the .ol2 license file.

 

Can someone of those with problems write me a pm with the exact release name that caused that issue?
I'd like to investigate the problem, maybe it's possible to patch the online checks so the use of the hosts file
becomes obsolete.

In a quick test I was able to patch the homecalling of rematrix.



Overloud plugins are coded in JUCE and JUCE binaries all share 1 thing
and that is a pretty easy to patch intermodular "wininet.InternetConnectW" call.
By disabling that call, the plugin isn't able anymore to connect to the net.

I used that patching in a lot of JUCE freeware that required an internet connection to run.
There are also other calls that enable the plugin to open the browser and those can be patched
as well pretty easily.

There are many plugins that have this problem, I can name a few of them comp670, dopamine, eqp, voice, etc. I can't say exactly that other plugins don't have problems, because almost all plugins may have the same problem after clash connects to VPN, C:\Users\{username}\AppData\ Roaming\Overloud\GEMS folder in the .ol2 license file will be automatically deleted by one of the plug-ins.

 

Hm, the deletion of the license file could probably be fixed as well. Will take a look at this tomorrow.

I hope r4e will release the perfect offline fix patch soon, you guys are the best.

 

I uninstalled all the overloud plugins with revo uninstaller with advanced parameters and reinstalled all updated versions and everything is ok now. Cheers.

 

I think R2R will take care of this in their next release.
Overloud VR releases should be patched but I didn't check that.
I don't want to make a release for that but if anyone is interested, I could
create a little patcher for those who're writing me a PM.

I think it is timebomb related thing, also my Overload plugins stop working after a while. But i just re-register them with kg, no system changes at all, and everything is pretty fine again. That happens after some time, or how often you use the plugin, it depends. Maybe it is better to investigate what triggers timebomb, than patching plugins itself. Sometimes i got same thing with patched plugins from FabFilter, so that is a normal thing nothing bad. Since you have blocked in host file homecaling, i guess there is no chance to call home if you have patched host file, or that can be possible if there is another unknow server is called and should be blocked, but still i think it is a simple timebomb, no need for panic.

 

My reason for this post: I have no way to use the overloud plugin, I need often use VPN, when I connect VPN crack will all become a trial version, which causes me a lot of trouble
