Punchbox has fantastic presets and Kick2 gives surgical control over volume and pitch envelope.

 

Kick2 and Punchbox are my go-to kick drum creation tools. I find both of them really easy to use, and they both have mountains of power under the hood. Kick2 tends to be the one that I'll reach for first, but if I'm looking to make something a bit different, I'll go for Punchbox.

I also like the presets in SugarBytes DrumComputer, but I've never really got to grips with the synthesis tools. Just because of time really, because the sounds out of it are great.

 

Has anyone ever tried using Fuse Audio - Drums SSX yet? If you are one of those "install the entire thing" users, you may already have it installed.

So what this thing is, is a simple Stems Separation tool. It is very similar to what RX Music Rebalance from Izotope offers. But it is basically tailor made for drums. It's pretty brilliant.

You insert it as a Channel FX on an audio track with some type of drums in that waveform. And it strips them into 4 separate bands in realtime.

Do you know how Recycle or other program Chops audio via Hitpoints, in a linear manner? This is the opposite, it works using frequency bands. And then it has channel strip implements for each stem like Volume, EQ, Compression or Dynamics anyway. Maybe a little rudimentary on those, but it's close to brilliant. It is innovative workflow.
You can mute any channel strip and bounce it in place in about 1 second. It's like RipX but reverse for drums.
