For those who would be in search of an excellent free B3 emulation there is Sampleson CollaB3.

Sampleson CollaB3 - A very decent Hammond B3 emulation. In fact it is not sample based, it is physically modelled, and with percussion, rotary speaker and leakage, the simple on/off chorus/vibrato of the very first model of the B3 and a simple on/off soft reverb. The plugin is only a few dozens of Mb size. The sound is very good for a freeware. Not to say... excellent! Not a quality as top as VB3 of course but really excellent to use, even as solo instrument.

And for those who would be in search of an excellent free piano there is Audiolatry Grand Piano XXL.

Audiolatry Grand Piano XXL Free - Don't be afraid by the ugly GUI, it is a great emulation of a Yamaha C5 piano with 16 layers of velocity!

    We could add Exakt Lite.

Sonicbits Exakt Lite - An excellent free 4-operator FM synth inspired by the Yamaha TX81Z. 4 operators which can be arranged in the classic 8 FM algorithms with feedback on operator D. Each operator has got different waveforms such as the basic sine, saw, square and triangle. Additionally, the 8 classic waveforms from the Yamaha TX81Z are emulated. Each operator has got a separate amplitude envelope generator supporting the classic 5 point TX envelopes. These envelopes have been modeled to mimic the TX characteristics. It features a resonant filter with 24db/oct lowpass, highpass and bandpass. You also have a visualization of the resulting waveform for immediate editing response, useful on FM synthesis!

    Since when is zeta+ free?
Can't find any information about that in the net. The included unins000.dat also reads
"Your z3ta+ Serial Number is located on the CD jewel case"

There is a fantastic synth, very simple but that I really love. It's Taron Lord of the Springs.

Taron Lord of the Springs - The concept of this synth is totally original. 88 voices in form of active spring systems, which a key hit stimulates as well as modwheel scrubbing. As one might imagine, springs will generally create rather metallic sounds, which makes it ideal for complex glockenspiel sounds, xylophones, marimbas and so on, but the freedom granted by the features allows for a much greater variety of sounds from soft, dreamy pads to harsh percussion and other percussive sounds. Beware, though, because it truly is procedural sound creation, potentially creating spikes when you line up the spring frequencies. The developer advices the use of a limiter to avoid possible heart-attacks or damage to equipment. It also features a unique pitchbend implementation that allows only held down keys to be pitched, while sustained keys (via sustain pedal) won't be affected by it. Once a key is released, a pitch relax value controls how quickly it will return to the original pitch of the key. Once the bend key is struck again without any pitch bending, it will be tuned back to normal instantly. The probably most outlandish feature is the BODY or ONE SPRING TO RULE THEM ALL, which is kind of why the developer ended up calling it Lord of the Springs. This one spring sits underneath all springs and stimulates all of them by what ever sound they produce. It creates an almost plate reverb like effect, which can be modified in a variety of ways, including its own tuning, decay, diffusion and- what the developer calls- "sharpness". On top of that it has its own phaser effect with a tremolo that can go stereo and can have its rate synced not just to BPM but to actual song position for a perfect lineup with a beat, if so desired. Subtle use of the phaser can create compelling room impressions as well, which is the original reason for why the developer implemented it to begin with. The BODY also features a blendable SOLO mode, again increasing the amount of sound creation possibilities somewhat substantially, though, mostly in the realm of special effects. Watch this 1 hour overview by the developer himself.

    1831 Freeware Synthesizer - 9,59 GB - Only Windows / 32 Bit - Info - DL Links

In 2012/2013 I collected 1831 freeware synthesizers. It is now 2021 and many of the freeware synthesizers are no longer available. Many websites no longer exist, some manufacturers have stopped production or replaced them with new products. So here the "backup" download, is an archive of all freeware synthesizers up to 2012. My thanks go to all creative minds who made the virtual software synthesizer possible.

Do you know Oi, Grandad ?
    :)

This curiously named granular synth plugin is equipped with four voices, each of which has its own filter, envelope and delay controls. It's basically four complete synths in one. Each voice can hold a .wav audio file and has familiar granular controls for manipulation. Use the on-screen dials to adjust grain, density, position, detune, spread and pitch. The filter has multiple modes and there's full cut-off and resonance knobs to play with.

And that's not all. There's an extensive modulation section offering 12 different modulation sequencers so you can use them as a simple LFO or get your groove on with controls over pitch and timing for more complex sequences. There's even a drone button for rapid envelope-ignoring creation of moody soundscapes and animating pads and textures.
    (text from Musicradar)

I experiment it since the mid of October and I really have blast with it !

EDIT: I have now exchanged the z3ta+ for the legal available CM version.
It has a serial number that is fixed. Even 64 bit....

It is in fact no longer available. That means it is dead. It was last available as magware in "Computer Music 171 - November 2011 Cover DVD" and that was a full version without serial number. I thought I would bring it back to life. Would be a pity for such a great synthesizer.

A little mistake in your list about Dexed.
    :)

You repeated the link for Dead Duck Reduction instead of inserting my Dexed Cart.

I also suggest another old but awesome 32bit synth : Pro SoloVST from AM Music Technology.

You can find it (with two other wonderful free instruments, all used by Tony Banks in Genesis) on my webspace :
AM Music Technology Freeware Pack (Pro SoloVST, RMI-EP, and VL-122) at 2017-05-06

Here are Pro SoloVST an VL-122 in action:

And for the record, RMI-EP it was... this ! :

AM Music Technology beautifully, perfectly emulated the three instruments. And no samples, only with synthesis.

You can download them together with my link above.

Hint: BlackWinny from kvraudio did a great DX7 compilation named Dexed_cart_1.0.zip.
Simply unzip the content of this zipfile to your Cartridges directory.

You should rename the thread to Freeware Instruments 2022, since a lot of them aren't even synths.

Renaming it would've been sufficient. [IMG] :winker:
