Anyone know of a app that will split a mutli channel midi file into parts? I need to convert type 1 midi to type 0.

Just import it into Reaper and an according window will pop up. Should work with both types in both directions.

Most recent DAW's when you import a MIDI file, will split them into separate parts and name them accordingly unless the original author did a really crappy job and never assigned any instrument which is highly unlikely.
Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, ProTools, Bitwig, Samplitude, Fruity Loops Ableton all do this. I gather you wish to edit...say for example, delete a few tracks and resave? If so, all those mentioned and most other new DAW's will do this. The only difference will be the command labelling and functionality interpretations. All mentioned will do MIDI 0 and MIDI 1. Some like Cubase apparently have MIDI 2 translation hidden under the hood ready for when/if it becomes available.

EDIT: - Here's a "Where MIDI 2 is up to video for y'all.

Fl Studio will automatically let you choose one, a few or all midi channels when importing a midi file since window pops up automatically when you drag and drop your midi file onto the pattern window or arrangement view. They will pop up with number boxes with the midi channels you want to select.
