32 kHz is the superior sampling rate. It just sounds mUsiCaL /s

depends what you are doing and how you mix, 44.1kHz could be fine or not, unless you know what your doing.

If you are recording material that will be stretched, then do it at high sampling rate.

God damn, is this really true? Has to be one of the most interesting facts if so. That is shit if true.

Ok yeah that's what I always assumed it was. But it sure was interesting to think about it differently lol

Take into consideration just how many CD's and now Streamed tracks have been recorded and Mastered at 48Khz 24bit. Easily millions more likely close to a billion. It was only ever converted to 44.1Khz for CD burning. Now CD's are almost antiquated.
"IF" it was found he was correct.... what a can of worms.

I read a little in the meantime, and I guess oversampling may be the easiest way to work around it, (even if not the most clever), so anyone ought to at least do that much...
I tend to stick with things that are popular ... (ex Pro-Q)
I don't know enough to attempt using cutting-edge anything these days.

I should have asked not "exactly" but "generally, in layman's terms"
After posting I looked it up too, so I actually did understand your concise phrase!

My favorite engineer uses 44.1k and I am following his lead.

I'm just waiting for people to absolutely kill to get that "AWESOME!" 16bit sound again so I can offload this Yamaha 01v I've been stuck with all these years :) Think I might be waiting for a long time...

What he is essentially telling here is that the chipset in his DAC, is better at handing 44.1 and 96.

He would probably politely tell him his D/A conversion or his ears are broken,
he can choose the one that hurts his feeling the least.

This just gave me a multi-million dollar idea. You know how Sonarworks will cancel out your shitty room acoustics for the cheap?

Well... What if I invent a viking helmet but instead of sorority beer cans on each side of a pear shaped head... I put traffic cones on each side gently inserted into thine ears. We have to make bad monitors and audio interfaces a thing of the past.

... I'll call them Dunce Cones

(I really can't talk shit, I almost believed it until a couple of posts that plopped down afterwards haha)

Stop falling into those click baits and LEARN why those "arguments" are pure bullsh1t

Remember : most early digitally recorded albums where at 44.1
Like the "horribly" sounding MJ - Thriller

The ONLY valid reason to not use 44.1 or 48 is because of incompatibility.
Every other so called "argument" is pure bullsh1t.

like i say for YEARS : 24bits 44.1 is more than enough

Like billions pictures taken at 10MP with Canon 5D or Nikon D700

Thriller was recorded on two 24-track (analog) tape machines.

44.1 Khz was chosen to fit video tape recorders frame-rate (perhaps VHS) and then used in CDs
48 Khz was chosen to fit NTSC analog TV frame-rate and used in DATs
Call me weird but this for me was enough to ignore all kind of comparisons and misticisms
