Pretty bored today so thought i would ask if any of you think that loops like the ones from vengeance dirty electro or any pack like that take the fun out of producing music. Every pack now seems to be construction kits with the track already completed. Yes you can remix it but wheres the fun in that. Just looking to know if anyone agrees with me and likes to build from scratch with single shots and an initialised vsti. Thanks guys.

I like loops as much as samples but find construction kits pretty useless. I think so many kits are released because they're pretty easy to produce... just get a groove going and add a few tracks. Single loops take much more time to make.

The kits are useful for seeing how a certain type of music is done if you've never done that type before. I like playing with them, change tempo, take out certain drums, see how sounds are made, etc.

Yea using them for knowledge is ok but ive seen tracks on youtube that people call their own and theyve basically just put a construction kit together. Theres a kit in vengeance dirty electro pack and it is just wolfgang gartner illmerica. i doubt that would be usefull if tou tried to make the track and sell it. Theres also a deadmau5 track on another vengeance pack i think its future house 3 and if u try n sell these as your own you prob get sued lol.

I prefer to create beats using samples, but I enjoy loops for inspiration

this annoys the hell out of me!! what makes me laugh is when i get asked to do a remix for someone who got a track signed, they send me the stems and its just made up of various loops from a sample pack that still have the original sample pack titles and they havent even chopped or changed a thing. at least mix down your own stems so you seem a bit more legit! so many people are dragging loops into FL these days, making a pretty pattern with the coloured blocks and then thinking they are a producer, and worse still most of it gets signed and they get the credit.

the way i deal with all these sample packs is find the usual "Sounds & Effects/Drum Hits" folder, take that then dump the rest. if i want bass/synths/hats/effects/whatever, ill make them with a synth like it should be done. maybe sounds harsh but you could train a monkey to drag n drop wavs, it doesnt make the monkey a producer does it?

My thoughts exactly they arent producers their lazy and just stealing already produced loops. As you say they should at least chop and rearrange it to sound different from the original. Everyones a musical genius eh lol.

Watch Future Music In The Sutdio with Avicii, Olav Basoki, Stonebridge, Benassi, Swedish House Mafia, Thomas Gold and so on and on. YES, these producers whom, have tons of hits and remixes in the EDM world, some even in the top of Billboard charts DO "drag n drops wavs". They do re-arrange and chops afterward but before anything, they drag and drop chunk of loops. Haahaha!!! they may be "train monkeys", what do I know. Construction kits is one thing (which by the way, I've never seen anybody use) but Vengeance or similar loops are used by pratically 3/4 of EDM producers, ask anybody who knows what they are talking about when it comes to EDM and you'll hear it. Of course not everybody drag loops, you have guys like Morgan Page, Bt, D. Ramirez, John Dahlbäck and others that I've seen work different. They are more like Sound Designers, where they use Battery, Remix, Guru or similar tools and drill in to create their own sounds. So, each producers take a different approach according to their needs, knowledge, style or what suit them best.
Honestly, have I not ever seen any video of these guys letting anybody getting a pick of how they create their music, I'd never know Avicii drag loops and Bt on the other hand create loops from scratch because at the end of the day, when the songs reaches my Serato crates, they all sounds equally well produced with their own unique touch, no matter what technique that was used. In production it's all about to each their own. That's my two cent.

Anybody with a bit of sense and a bit of knowledge about loops pack and production as a whole, would know what the construction kits are for. So, anybody seen on YouTube with a re-arrange construction kit are below amateur; They are killing their own career before it even started. And, that's if they were ever going to have one in production anyway.
