    Hi all!

I use Macbook Air 2020, 32GB RAM, OS version 10.15.7

I have been trying to install the latest Waves plugins (mostly v14, but also 13, 12, and 11) for 3 or 4 days now. I have uninstalled every Waves product from my device, deleted all the cache, and all. Provided permission for access to all folders to Waves Central from Security.

No matter what, the installation stucks on copying. I have tried installing plug-in by plug-in, as opposed to installing all at once, but still, each time the copying process was stuck at some point.

    Could someone help me please?

    Thanks for your time,
    Best,
    C

You might have to update your OS to a newer version.

MacBook Air 2020 has M1 processor, doesn't have 32GB ram and doesn't support MacOS 10.15.7

Hey. You made me check back, it obviously supports 10.15.7, and the processor is not M1, it is 1,2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7. It is a "MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020)" if this helps.

Anyway, thanks for your reply. Do you have any idea about how I can solve the issue about Waves Central?

Hi! Thanks for the advice. But I would rather not have Waves plugins than updating to a later OS. Because to my experience, Idk why, it just slows down the machine. I updated to BigSur before, but then I had to go back to Catalina. Do you reckon if there's any chance I may not do the update and have the plugins. The waves website informs that v14 supports 10.15.7 btw :/

Do not "upgrade" your OS for some plugins. Actually checking the hard drive in there might be a good side effect of that. You may want to check this ssd/hd to prevent possible loss of work later, if it fails. https://support.apple.com/guide/disk-utility/repair-a-storage-device-dskutl1040/mac

But you should still figure out which will work with your current installation.

Ditching Waves for good, was my personal solution. The installations were getting annoying, but isn't why. I'm not giving them 10 gig or so on my internal SSD on my Macbook. I have them on my Pro if I really need to use them. And I never do anyway. Fabfilter and Logic. Acon Digital for resto.

There are so many smaller bundles which offer at least the same comparable quality. Melda, Voxengo. The list is long.

    ah alright :)

various Waves versions cannot co-exist together,
start clean, and do cleanup the hidden paths, as stated here: https://www.waves.com/support/uninstall-waves-products

now the tricky part, offline installation package will only work if you have Waves Central version matching the offline plugins package,
    https://www.waves.com/support/install-activate-products-on-offline-computers

recently I had all sorts of install issues on various systems, it's better to create a (dummy) Waves account and perform online installs through Waves Central, by default they remain unlicensed and the used account does not interfere with any licensing method later,

in the long run, it's best to quit using Waves, they have literally the worst installation and terrible plugin waveshell system, it's the most troublesome plugin company I ever encountered

    Found solution:
Run Waves central from terminal as root:
    sudo /Applications/Waves\ Central.app/Contents/MacOS/Waves\ Central

I have been having exactly the same problem installing V14 waves pkg in my Mac Studio, running 12.3.1 on an M1 processor and 64 GB RAM. It will install up to about 80 or 81 %, then the progress bar just hangs there. Makes no difference if I then disable the internet, it's not getting anything. Tried several times, even did a complete uninstall and cleanup, then installed again, running from Terminal, It did make a difference: now it stalls at 45%.

I agree with tzzsmk that Waves has an absolutely abysmal install process. Unfortunately they also have among the best plugin sets in the industry, albeit with a lot of functional redundancy.

I ran from terminal and it went through and installed, the only problem now is that when I scan them into fl studio, it only comes up with waveshell 14.0, wavehsell13.0 etc. and when I open them in FL it only shows the graphic EQ.
    SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

    On the windows side re: the last ultimate 2024 release from Team V.R.;
    - grabbed a unmodified waves central app from waves site
    - used a bogus social media login to waves site and grabbed a "unmodified "complete offline installer package" for ultimate
    - moved those two over (via backend lan) to the production machine which has NEVER been internet connected
    - ran the waves central app and pointed it at the waves ultimate offline install package
    - selected ONLY those plugins that I needed installed and let it roll. took about 2 mins to install...
    - ran the V.R. auth/crack
    - done.

seems like this should work on the apple side as well. no idea about where the whole code-signing thing fits into the equation tho, or even if it's needed...
