Convolver More than just reverb: 19.50$

To convolve is to multiply one sound with another... sort of.

The most common, and very cool, use for convolution is for reverb. If you go to a place with a nice ambience, like your local church or your grandmother's bathroom, and you record the echo from a short loud click, you can convolve any other sound with the resulting impulse response (IR) and it will sound as if you were magically playing it in that location.

But that's not all you can do with Convolver. Because IRs are simply audio files, you can load any sample into Convolver to emulate anything from a simple guitar amp cabinet, to freaky filters, distinctive delays, and much more. IMHO Specially convolver for 19.50$ and Disperser for 28.50$ are no brainer, specially when you think of what can be done with these into snapheap.

I downloaded their free package a couple of weeks ago and have been using those plug-ins more than I expected. Very high quality and useful stuff!

I've wondered if Kilohearts are planning to release their own DAW sometime in the future. Their GUIs are very DAW/editor like and these plug-ins are reminding me of stock plug-ins! I'm sure they could make a killer DAW.

 

Yes, these are very good plugins, and you can combine and save them with Snapheap.
I've created really surprising reverbs using several instances of Convolver together with Ensemble and EQ.

On the other hand, I personally find Faturator not really good, at least not for synthesizer sound. It's not fattening the sound at all, and it's distortion is too obvious, it's hard to make it subtle.
Specially if you compare with Parawave Rapid saturation effects.
