Seen a lot about Waves in this thread. I haven't used them in ages since I uninstalled it, but I definitely think Waves is more quantity over quality, even though they still do have some nice plugins.

I think AUDIO PLUGIN UNION make some turboshit plugins. Their plugins are all bundled in "suites", which each suite supposedly serving a different purpose. coreFX is essentially their "flagship" suite with standard processors and a few effects. Notably lacking is an equalizer, probably because the UI would be too hard to cram inside their shitty design language.
There's just no features that makes it better than any stock plugins in a DAW. No autorelease for the compressors (1 of which is just a slightly worse version of the other), no interesting features with the gate (or expander, which is the same fucking thing except they let you adjust the ratio of compression), shitty limiter with high latency to boot, & a generic flanger, delay & chorus.
Now, none of this may seem exceptionally bad. Just generic, right? Well, it's the price that makes this so outrageous. They're charging near $300 for this shitty suite of effects.
Their "colorFX" suite is just generic distortion algorithms tied to an envelope follower for $130. Oh boy.
Now, if you don't want to color your sound, or add "richness and space", you can harness the power of magic with wizardFX.
It's the same effects as previously mentioned but with added saturation and 0 configuration options
And when I mean 0 configuration options, I mean it. The only thing you can control is the makeup gain, and all you can do is select from some presets. This suite is $53.99, which isn't saying much considering I'd still recommend free alternatives to all 3 suites even if themselves were free.

 

I'd forgotten just how good Tremor was. FXpansion had some awesome plug-ins back in the day. Shame they let them all die.

 

For me it is probably EZdrummers drumkit from hell.
Most overused kit ever and it sounds fake as fuck.
It is probably quality wise not the worst but the fact that it was overused by so many made it shit.
I instantly recognize the snare whenever someone uses it on their productions.

Soundspot Union "Innovative" synth

 

Dear lord this looks awful. Looks like a very basic synth with the UI of a complex one. Worst of both worlds.

 

Wormhole is pretty bad as far as effects go. Xils4 is the worst paid synth I have ever used though.

 

Ever tried mic up your Vox,
As the sound you hear on an ampsim is how a miced up cab sounds in a control room.
But i agree GR is not as good as Helix, Neural, STL, Mercuriall, etc.
However if you use the same IR and do a head to head test and of course using the same amp model on both plugins (i say this as i have seen people do head to head tests, and they use different amps on the plugins WOW i bet those morons never played a real amp?) In the test, i bet GR will sound pretty close as the CAB is more than 80% of the tone.

 

Before they gave it a face lift I wasn't sure how spooked I was...

Worst plugins I've tried are those soundspot ones , I can't remember which was THE worst, but I do remember that none of them was "good enough" ... ;)

 

Pretty GUI... but:
- No velocity management.
- No mod wheel management.
And cold sounds, quite static for a wavetable synth.

I tried it when it was released. Never liked it, neither for its features, nor for its sounds.

Compared to free wavetable synths as SurgeXT, Vital, or Odin II which all three are full of incredible features and are able to really make warm and living sounds, Union is a very poor synth. There are cheap wavetable synths which are way better (I think to Vast Vaporizer 2 for example and other excellent things like it).

Regarding the Windows NeuronVS memory leak - I found a fix ....

BE AWARE I am running this jBridged to x64 and have no idea if that's a contributor to this method working.
