Okay ladies. The topic speaks for itself. So whats the source? Yes, we all see the upoloaders name, but you know what I mean. Who's the source? Is it a website? Are they simply Rockband moggs? Could it be midget? Or is it the 99%? Are these truly B master reel multi's & stems? I highly doubt it (other than the Madonna tracks recently posted), for one I've worked in several studios behind the glass where most of these artists have either tracked, mixed, or mastered songs of this calibre we are seeing more of on the daily. I once had the luxury of chopping a "Bryan Adams" not "Ryan Adams" greatest hits B Reel just for leader tape for an uber famous producer due to the studio's lack of 1/2 inch leader tape, but that was THE ONLY TIME I EVER GOT TO EVEN SEE A B REEL!! Or maybe it was just because the studio hated Canadians? Either way my point is - its common practice & policy to not play B Reels. So, either my assumptions are correct (I haven't played Rocckband in years so I cannot confirm if most of these are moggs) but its definitely my first hunch due to the fact that "stems" are a fairly new delivery technique. Any rate I'm done. What say you?

A lot are Guitar Hero / Rockband.

I think others are "leaks" from the songs being used for T.V. where there instrumentals of songs are played (think X-Factor etc.)

    This is 100% guesswork :dunno:

At first we must learn that did Rockband extract the Multitrack? yes? no? If we say yes, let's go and jump somewhere and end our lives. Multitrack was before the Rockband. You can find rockband multitrack files, multitack files that make personal purchases and productions except rockband.

For exp. : Jason Derulo - Dont Wanna Go Home ? Is it from rockband or its series? If you search you can find like examples.

You can buy multitrack from these sites.:
    www.songgalaxy.com

All of them are cover. Is this useful? as enstrumental yess.. The Original ? No!

For exp. Numbers of multitracks of one sing are 8-10 pieces. What did rockband do ? Reduce this number or make a game without reducing.

    How ?

For exp. It gives the Drums,Kick,Perc tracks as one file combination not separately. or gives without disturbing.

I think People convert and use these files for remix or personal enjoyments..

So what rockband or personal purchase or production. Is it orginal? Is it useful? yes.yes yes..

I have 30 GB multitrack sounds except rockband. Not all of them is rockband.! Don't play this so much. It makes dependence.

A few are from Remix Contests, for example the ones from Pirates of the Carribean and the Daft Punk tracks from Tron. But most of the rest seem to be made by amateurs.

There's definitely a variety of sources that multitracks come from and I guess it's pretty easy to work out what tracks have come from music games and remix contests. The ones that don't fit into these categories must be leaks I imagine . . . I know I personally got hold of several full albums of beatles multitracks about 8 years ago, long before I ever came across something similar on the net. I have no idea where they originally came from . .

I don't know why there's a sudden influx of multitracks but I'm enjoying it :)

The original leaked set was from a protools demonstration set that went round the trade shows with digidesign guys demonstrating.
There then came the wave of guitar hero and rock band etc ones.
Then Nine Inch Nails among a string of bands actually started releasing their stems or bundling them with the cd's in special editions etc.
At least thats the evolution of it i witnessed through the years...

The ones where they are tape originally as 16 track or less are the most intresting, to see how the engineers reused and punched stuff in all over the place to get more tracks, bohemian rhapsody must have been all hands on deck to mixdown given how fragmented and how many tracks stuff appears on.

Heres a list of the original digidesign demonstration ones.

Doobie Brothers - Long Train Running
Marvin Gaye - Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine
Marvin Gaye - Mercy Mercy Me
Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
Marvin Gaye - Ain't No Mountain High Enough
    Beatles - Sgt. Pepper
Beatles - With A Little Help From My Friends
    Beatles - She's Leaving Home
Beatles - A Day In The Life
Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me (Work-in-progress version...completely different lead vocal track)
Def Leppard - Rock Of Ages
Def Leppard - Bringing On The Heartbreak
Bob Marley - Is This Love
Bob Marley - Lively Up Yourself
Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry
    Stevie Wonder - Superstition
    Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
    Queen - Killer Queen
    Queen - Brighton Rock
Queen - Get Down, Make Love
    Eagles - Take It Easy
    Nirvana - Marijuana
Nirvana - Penny Royal Tea (Loser)
    Nirvana - Very Ape
Nirvana - Sappy (Verse Chorus Verse)
Christina Aguilera - Genie In A Bottle
