This synth has been resolutely thought for my preferred genres of music: Ambient, Chillout, New Age, and Experimental !

Born Under A Bad Sine, or it's alias(ing), Not So Cherry Audio. It does nothing that Surge can't do better.

I get the cute "Wave" idea but the interface is going to make you feel seasick.

I don't know about that. I won't be buying a copy because I don't want an always online synth but I was watching the Starsky Carr review earlier today and it sounded fantastic to me. So I thought I'd have a stab at making some of those bell/pluck sounds in Surge. Making them was really counter-intuitive to me, and the presets just didn't sound anything like as good as the sounds the reviewer was getting out of it.

I'm on vacation and have not been able to put Sine through it's paces but will do so when I return home. In my experience and since one can manipulate a set of four sine waves with Surge (which sounds absolutely stellar to me) I'm betting dollars to donuts that Surge will shine far brighter to my ears in the same applications as Sine. Thanks for your good feedback.

I woke up and the R2R version is up on the sister site this morning, so I've been able to have a good play with it now.

I really like it. I think a lot of my issue with Surge is that the interface just isn't very intuitive. Sure, there's a mountain of power under the hood, but if it's been a while since you last touched it, it's just hard to do anything. With Sines, it's pretty obvious where everything is and what it's supposed to do. People are saying that it's something of a CPU hog, but on my machine at least, it's a damn sight better than Korg's Opsix.

But where it really shines is in those DX-like bell sounds. They sound fantastic.

The GUI and workflow along with sound and CPU usage are also only worth 39 EUR.
Here are the CPU values in Studio One:

Yes, a few days later, we have a title that says nothing, even if we are finally speaking about something that exist.

I'm a big fan of any synth that has a chord function. This one is great, I just wish there was a way to change the waveform by note. SO like you have 4 oscillators, If I play a 7-8 note chord it would be cool to change the sound of the first 4 notes of the chord.

Thanks for the hint, I missed that. :like:

Mh, I find the sound pretty good and your CPU usage is strange AF. The standalone is hardly recognized by the task manager and Reaper shows less than 2% for the VST2 version and I have an outdated CPU.
