Why not spend some time with your favourite DAW and approximate the sound YOU are looking for?

Ableton racks might be especially well-suited for this purpose, because you can define macro controls that do similar stuff as the controls in UBK-1, and still use a combination of internal and VST plugins.

It won't be an easy task however. Prepare to spend some time and trying out quite a number of plugins until you get there.
That's why plugins like the UBK exist - they save you from that.

 

I saved up and bought this baby, totally worth every penny!
But it's a complicated little plugin to try and emulate I would imagine.

You can waste all the time you want trying to come up with a chain that is similar, but it WONT be the same. Isn't your time worth more than that? I have used that plugin on every mix i have since purchasing it.

 

... Well, if you consider it impossible to emulate then your best option would probably be buying it.

Dou you want to replicate the whole plugin or are you after a specific sound?

 

a small emulation of it, of course it's impossible to get the sound as the same as ubk but we can create a nice emulation, like the CLA series i create 2 simulation of it.

i design this with 4 knob with PATCHER ( in Fl Studio ), i'm not always happy with the results that i get from my emulate cla but when i use it i feel great.
it's a diffrent feeling when you use your own stuff .
