Kontakt 7 cannot remove library

Discussion in 'Kontakt' started by Vincent Price, Oct 3, 2022.

  1. Hello

I wanted to try out the add custom library feature on Kontakt 7 and now I can't get rid of it from Kontakt 7. I added Session bassist to it to try it and now cannot get rid of it, the remove button is even greyed out and isn't clickable.

    Anyone able to help?

    I am on Mac

I would move the folder containing the library and restart kontakt. Well, personally I would just ignore it being there because who actually cares? I'm not "updating" from Mojave to run 7. Not a chance. Someone else can beta test it for them, for free. :)

"but my thumbnails will be...!" . lol. Good luck with that.

Go to Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center

Find your library there and delete it.

    That should do the trick.

Hello there, I faced this issue a while ago and found this video that explains all the things you should do for removing it manually

    TL;DR
if you don't want to open the video, here's the writeup (copied from the video desc):
    01 - Check if the library you want to remove it's here (( C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Service Center ))
    02 - Open Windows (( Registry Editor ))
03- Follow the steps (( HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments )) and remove the library you want..
04 - Remove whatever leftover here (( HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Native Instruments\Kontakt Application )) only the name of the library you want to remove..
05 - Remove the library from here as well (( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments ))

    Done.
