i wanted to know what other daws have that reaper does not have in terms of its midi editor

anything in particular worth mentioning?

Here are some things that I couldn't find easily when I used Reaper:

- (De)select top/bottom voices from all selected chords
- Strumize (IIRC Reaper's "drag-arpeggiate" doesn't work when you have several chords selected)
- Return keyboard focus to the MIDI editor after running a script (scripts need to use SWS to fix)
- Shift notes by intervals using a keyboard shortcut (guess you could macro)
- Quickly apply your own repeating velocity pattern
- Cycle note pitches horizontally
- Zoom MIDI editor to content and fit contents, respecting min/max zoom levels

I miss this almost every day...

 

Comparing to Ableton Live you miss a lack of many basic options like splitting a note.
You have more than that with your DAW I think.
How about scripting? Can you add any features with it?

 

The most frustrating to me is the MIDI keyboard focus, I want it to work like Ableton; toggle the MIDI keyboard icon and just play when the track is armed regardless the keyboard focus stuff. I know the post is about the editor, but this is something that would make things easier.
