I received an email yesterday telling me that UAD Spark for Windows will release today.

I'm certainly going to try it out, any one else thinking of the same?

So first impressions for the Windows plugins.

I've added a few of the plugins to one of my tracks and WOW! The clarity is unreal! Size of each plugin is around 10mb - 100mb. Uses very little CPU - I get no spikes at all. And it's improved my sound radically!

Slight hum on the Studer plugin - but can live with that for now. Other than that, I'm very impressed.

 

and now the question is: does this iLok installer will block R2R's releases using that protection?

Would you care to explain "The clarity is unreal" ?

 

If only I could buy a perpetual license. With this subscription system, I can only wait for one of the teams, unfortunately.

 

I don't use any Audio Interfaces as I don't have the right setup, although I'd like to use an Audio Interface to give me clear sound clarity. The Studer plugin gives me just that without having an Audio Interface attached - that and cannot believe how clear my sound now is.

Whilst other plugins may achieve a similar result, I've used quite a few and have been unable to get the clarity I'm now getting using this particular plugin.

Subscription system is like a time-bomb, you can't feel safe with your finished projects, anytime you can lose some instances in your bus-chains

You mean you are using your computer's built in audio device ?
Pretty difficult to give a review on real "clarity" if you ask me.

BTW being able to use Minimoog ONLY in Luna is really a NO go for me.

 

Same here. Studer is a tape emulation, I am sure the hum is part of the emulation!

 

It's good news. I don't like their EQ and comp emulations. Not better than what else is out there in this day and age. But the organ? Man... they really nailed that one.

 

While it might be that you have been doing it for more than twenty years perhaps - Having an avatar that does not look like you are still in early High School would give that question to Madagasca a lot more credibility. Just an observation.

Personally super happy that UAD becomes native for Windows, but from here to get the "fix" from R2R or other Teams, ehm, honestly it seems like an impossible dream.
