I think version 6 will support 6 channel mixes. At least that's my hope.

Having been testing it, I can tell you guys not to get your hopes up.
Don't get me wrong theres some new features that are long overdue but overall this update really should have been 5.6. I'm guessing since the Fender acquisition they needed some new cashflow to meet KPIs.

Is it even worse than 4th and 5th versions? Because AFAIR those two weren't that loaded with new features but over a lifespan of those versions we got a lot of new features(including those from feature requests) and improvements.

My guess is that people were waiting for an update for too long(it's one of the longest breaks they had between 1 and 0.5 versions). It "forced" them to release it faster(I've read that the beta test itself weren't that long this time as well). After all who cares when they release a major update when you are getting most of the stuff inbetween major versions.

I'm really not in the camp with drama queens who screams about "It's Gibson story again!", I think it's goona be OK, but this period of hiring new devs and producing a new software piece(the one that needs "one-page-manual"), and adjusting all the processes will take some time.

    Speaking of new features themselves
I guess it's multichannel audio, video track and stuff like that? Because those are the features that were "long overdue".

I hope they revamp the mixer and the interface. If I'm not mistaken this will be the 1st major upgrade since being bough out by fender? That's a lot of money tied into Presonus now, so they can afford some innovative technology. They have a good foundation and finacial backing so hopefully the upgrade is free.

I wouldn't bet it will be free. If S1 goes from v5 to v6 I expect upgrade fee.

now that would be a nice gesture.

unlikely but it would certainly set a good start going forward.

I dont remember 4 being bad, We got patterns and updated samplers. 5 was lackluster because it was focused on the show mode.

I used not the best word, it wasn't "bad", it was just far from being as big as everyone excpected.

Multicore please God! Also, why everyone complain so much on here? I keep trying other DAWs and have to keep going back to S1, it's the GOAT.

If their incremental updates weren't free, I would agree. But they are.

What else do you need? They already have one of the better if not the best midi editor.
