    Hi everyone,

Just wondering if someone else has experienced this issue when trying to install the recent R2R releases(Waves, Melodyne, Izotope and pretty much all the recent custom installers).

It seems to happen only for the custom installers that R2R creates for these releases. Others that contain original installers from plugin devs still install fine. This happened last year as well with some VR releases which I stop checking because of that install issue.

This time is a fairly fresh windows install, not many programs installed other than Bitwig, Ableton and a couple of VSTs

I tried updating windows, rebooting, running installers as admin, increasing the windows heap size. Nothing had an impact.

There is no antivirus software other than defender which is deactivated via group policy.

Other R2R installers and keygens from 2 or 3 months ago are still working fine. It's just the recent releases that started to show this "Out of memory" message when I try to install them.

The system runs windows 10 pro x64, 16 GB of RAM. There seems to be plenty of RAM available when I attempt to run the installers. Not sure if it's connected to RAM.

    Thank you in advance.

Maybe, check your RAM. MemTest64, for ex.

    check also the morherboard drivers
you can use Snappy Driver to update the hardware or install missing drivers.

it is related to RAM management.

Causes of Out Of Memory Error Problem Issue

In the introductory part, we have already seen that when your system does not have enough memory left to run any application, process, or service the Out Of Memory Error java appears. Obviously, this is not the only reason behind this error, some applications take a lot of memory especially heavy applications like video editors, graphics editors. Furthermore, chances are that your system has been infected by the virus or malware that is taking over the memory. Pending windows update is also one of the causes of this issue. Please use first: Free AdwCleaner www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner
    Install the: Free CCleaner www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner
Look also under -> Extras -> Autostart, whether there start programs that do not belong there.

I'm not sure if it will help you here, but 3 of 4 times I saw this with V.R installs, I just installed pending windows updates (rebooting as necessary) and the problem resolved. The other time I think I may have just rebooted and shut down absolutely everything unnecessary. 32GB here, so out of memory for an install is oddball, IMO, but those steps worked for me.

    Thanks for all your suggestions.

-Windows is up to date, just checked that. No pending updates.
-Updated old drivers with Snappy Driver like Bobdule suggested.
-Scanned for adware/malware. No malware detected.
-Already checked before what those 2 articles suggested about the paging file size and desktop heap limitation.
-Tried MemTest64 - no errors. Seems that RAM is fine.
-Checked task manager and there is no spike in RAM consumption while the error shows on the screen. Looks like plenty of RAM available.
    -Cleared Temp folder.

The error still pops up when clicking on the installer.

Can't seem to figure it out why these recent releases throw this error on my system but the old releases install fine with no issues.

I've tried also to import the R2R Melodyne installer for example into Universal Extractor. It looks like it's made with Inno Setup.

Tried searching on google for something related to Inno Setup and an "Out of memory" pop up error, but no clear answers.
    - Found something related to a certain version of Inno Setup that might cause this error. Something related to choosing a certain compression option that uses a large dictionary size when compiling the installer.

But I'm in no position to say that it's certainly related to the R2R installer.
I'm not very skilled on this topic. Just trying to figure this out
Seems to work on other systems with a lower amount of RAM, so it's most likely related to my particular system.

Because you mentioned having disabled Defender via Group policy, I wonder if that could in any way be related (seems an easy fix to enable for a test).
And because you are savvy enough to use Group policy to disable Defender, I wonder if you you may have done some other tweak that is causing the issue...

Had the exact same issue, running Windows 10 on 32gb/Ryzen 5600X over here. I wish I could help you, but I just tried installing it again and this time it worked. There were a couple reboots since I last tried installing it, so maybe that did the trick. It's definitely a weird issue that has nothing to do with actual memory. I also understand other people here trying to help, but googling it and expecting to be the answer will not help at all. It's a very specific issue unrelated to the error message.

Probably a memory hog is running in the background, you should try to determine which program is running in the background next to the installation and then disable it. Mostly it is some program which is badly programmed.
Look in the task manager and with CCleaner in the autostart. Take some screenshots.
Try LatencyMon and also the PC optimize PDF. You can also post screenshots of the result here.

can it be related to the R2R root certificate?

    Finally !
I had the same error, but doing the steps 3 & 4 from the link https://www.techinpost.com/out-of-memory-error/ given by @BEAT16 fixed the issue. As I did both steps in a row, I cannot determine which did the trick, but my guess is on the 4th step, which provides more shared memory (and hence available free memory) for your executable to run.
    So many thanks @BEAT16 !
@Zman can you try to see if it solves the problem for you ?

My experience with that is there is not enough space on the disk or remove all the components of the older version of the app, often manually.

Have Defender also deactivated, R2R setups are working here all.
I dont see any reason why, turning it on again would fix this issue, since Defender just wastes resources, slowing down the system including downloads.

But AV scan might be still a good thing.

Windows likes to stash away MSI installers, so if you install Ableton Live 11 a few times without uninstalling it everytime, the MSI installer will be saved on the HDD. I had it ten times installed means 39GB wasted. So now coming from there, if you are on installing spree it could be your HDD is full. Often people do not even notice that. I see my used HDD space everytime i open something.

you can use wiztree to look for MSI files on your HDD.
MSI files such a stupid slow and old way to serve installers. MSI/WiX installers can be unpacked with tools to avoid windows stashing them away.

But still odd that Windows then throws this error message? Maybe bcs the swap memory cant be increased, since HDD is full? I think there is an option in windows to reserve XXGB swap memory on HDD.

Also VR and R2R installers unpack to the temp folder on your HDD, if there is not enough space free, the setup will throw an error, since it cant write to HDD, since the HDD is full ==> RAM error.

    Hope you can solve that.
