So... we meet again!

With the announcement of Infiltrator 2 (from Devious Machines) and it's new FFT module, I start wondering, what are the FFT manipulation tools we currently have available for Windows? Mac users have Metasynth (which Aphex Twin used to make classics such as this one

) but Windows users don't have many options, the only options I can remember right now are:

1) - Spectral Suite (https://www.andrewreeman.com/spectralsuite/)
2) - Spec Ops (https://www.unfilteredaudio.com/products/specops)
3) - Harmor (https://www.image-line.com/fl-studio/plugins/harmor)

Which are few if we consider the shit ton of tape/compressor, etc type of plugins that are released every week.

So I ask you guys, do you know other FFT manipulation tools available for Win? Do you guys have any opinion regarding such tools?

 

Does Reaper's spectral editing count?

 

Well, technically yes! Although it's a rather... specific type of editing. There's also ReaFIR.

"Audio-Term" Wavetable Generator (Freeware, Windows)

KTERM - This is mainly a wavetable generator (PPG Waveterm and Fairlight CMI send their regards :D). I actually wrote it for the additive oscillator bank of the Terratec Komplexer, but by exporting WAV files you can also use it in Reaktor,Wusikstation,VAZ Modular or any other sampler with loop position modulation. And it is possible to create files for the Blofeld Wavetable Creator, which then sends them to the Blofeld. Wavetables with 33 waveforms can be created additively or via FFT resynthesis.

These wavetables can be further processed with various tools (shifters, formant filters, interpolations, etc.). Waveform drawing a la Fairlight is also possible, as is the resynthesis of single cycle waves. You can also compile new tables from existing files.

For spectral synths I'm still using iZotope Iris 2, and Camel Audio Alchemy which is of course discontinued though Logic users get it as a built-in, the lucky bastards.

FX-wise it's iZotope Spectron, which is also discontinued.

For image to sound Virtual ANS (free) works for me.
