I use the Logic EQ's all the time while I am working on a track. I frequently use the Vintage Graphic EQ instead of a low cut filter. Pro Q3 is just not as light and simple; but I use Q3 almost entirely when mixing, for my Reductive EQ. Sometimes I will use another EQ after my Pro-C2 compressor instance for sweetening, but usually that is Pro-Q3 also.

those who give you other eqs do not realize that fab q3 is also a dynamic eq it is super transparent it has few phase problems in its tint mid side modes, the possibility of knowing what frequencies are masking between various instruments is the best transparent eq in the world There is no better at market, the free options are not even close

    In my personal top:

    1 - FF Q3
2 - Weiss EQ1 (q curve and dynamic process sound really smooth)
3 - TDR NOVA (Multiple possibilities, learning curves, clean and warm sounding)
4 - Slate Digital Infinity EQ (Not dynamic, but really love this use)

When it comes to surgical subtractive equalization, I always go back to Pro-Q after whatever new EQ I try, and I've tried a lot of them.
It just gets the job done quickly and easily, and the GUI is perfect. Also it's the easiest on CPU among all other EQs I've used. IMO it has no real competitors.

They're all digital EQ's, pick the one you like and move on. For me it was FF Q3.

The combination of GUI, features, sound and extremely light CPU usage is just the best.
Now perhaps there's a few better sounding like say, Equlibrium. But at the cost of way more CPU. Or Maat... no, that shit 's no good

Also ProQ3 isn't a coloring-analog-mojo-warmth EQ, like @ThorntonQ well said. That's another type of EQ plugin.

"Digital Eq" never mentioned anything about "analogue".

I always recommend Meldaproduction MFreeFormEq or some other EQ from Melda.
