Yhea that's only one, just bypassing more and more tape and then bouncing.

I wasn't really tying to contest, just shoot the sh*t, but I guess if one has to play to play then I will play as necessary.

If It's cool to just use the console output and not have to use tape then I am going that way. I have to re-balance because removing the tape is going to change how things sound and I am pretty sure I can push those Lin50 Channels and Busses a lot hotter than tape and still get a less compromised sound.


Tape might be cool for somethings but overall I am kind of glad that not in use on every track because it has to be anymore. Especially if you have to stick with the actual tape formulas, and TR5 tape machines sound kind of accurate but the levels in and out make no sense but Satin is a lot of work and it has a built-in limiter which would be a cheat.

Either way I will submit to the proper place once I figure out how to do it. I will collapse the links in my previous post as a matter of record and update it all.

Well after reading this thread over and over again imho, a mixing contest is quite useless unless the "Artist" is part of the jury since it`s all about how the mix meets the "Artists" expectations and if it translates the musicians intentions with this song.
All mixes are great so far but what does the "Artist" think, thats what it is all about in the studio, usually.
Exceptions are: An AR manager and so called producer of a mayor label who thinks he´s the shit.....

I really like the concept and the subject, I made my mix without listening to any of the other posts, I do it right after I finish mine!

It is sure that we are as many interpretations as taste and musical colors, in the ears it is like in the plate we all like different things under different axis!

Some flaws of my mix increasingly annoy me as time goes on. But I gave them a good thought and decided to let it go.
Perfection is the enemy of good. Especially since we're working on tape here : D
