Hi, people.

I've been sampling pianos using ''Extreme Sample Converter". I can extract samples and make them SF2 but when I play them with my midi keyboard, the sound cut just as I lift the finger, they don't have the ''acoustic'' sound of key release, it cuts just like it was a synth. I know there is a way to do/fix it because some other SF2/SFZ pianos have that attribute. Please if you know how to do it, you'll save my life.

Edit: I use a a Korg Microkey61 and an Android phone with a SF2player app (Fluidsynth), using an OTG cable and a midi cable.

What midi keyboard are you using, please exact name? Do you use a softare to play the SoundFonts?

I don't know anything about Extreme Sample Converter, but you'll need to add envelope controls to your .sfz file if you don't want your samples to instantly cut off. Here's an example from the top of one of my .sfz files, if you already have a <global> and/or <control> section, you'll need to merge this in somehow (make a backup of your .sfz file):

If you sample using ESC the soundfonts sound cut. Even if you use loop points or super samplers like Tx16Wx.

you should use ESCs brother product „samplelord“ and set the length of the notes in ESC as Long as you can

another solution would be to put delay and reverb onto it

 

If I remember correctly, FMJsoft Awave gives you more control over envelope settings in the exported SF2 files.

 

Using awave to sample (not convert) instruments is a pain. You will need some extra tools, too.

nowadays there are more modern solutions (samplerobot, python scripts, fl studio, to name a few)
