Nice setup, but wouldn't using two different channelstrips defeat the purpose of this challenge / experiment? That's like having two different mixing desks in the studio, which is not (isually) how records were made back in the days. No front, just curious!

No, you neither need to use a tape or a channel strip. You could only level and pan the tracks if you want. [IMG] :winker:

That pic looks a bit tiny here.

    Interesting approach.

Ah, even more interesting and this way ok to use.

Err, that would make two kinds of channel strips ->
    Nice mix.

Zippy's blocking some countries additionally, the uploads are only temporarily and will be removed after some time and we want to leave the mixes to posterity, right? [IMG]

Why that? EDIT: ah, 320kbps, good.

Exactly. It's meant as mixture of 'Fook, I can't do this' and 'Oh, it's already finished?' [IMG]

    Mix sounds good.

I'm not sure what exactly you want to animate, but you can automate like with two people. [IMG] That was a common procedure back then (been there, done that).

I'm assuming you are talking about the Noise Ash 31102? It's only an EQ/pre-amp, so if you choose that one you will have no compressor to mix with.

BootEQ comes with continuous freqs instead of
but since it has no compressor other than the tube, I'd take it as a compensation.

    Nasty isn't limited enough.

For real? Nasty VCS doesn't offer anything that the Lindell strips don't have either. In fact Lindell strips are more flexible, since they offer: 1) different EQ models, 2) different compressor topologies, 3) you can set comp attack and release times (Nasty just has few preconfigured timings), 4) Lindell has more powerful preamp / saturation stage, 5) Lindell have TMT to get a slightly varied sound on each channel

I would ask you to reconsider Nasty VCS. It's really one of the most basic channelstrips you can find!

I'm confused by the confusion I apparently created. And I'm very sorry for this. Obviously I need some help in phrasing them correctly.

To me that means clearly, no continuous freqs, no continuous Q.

Means to me, only one kind of EQ and one kind of compressor.

    Where's my mistake?

ROOM REVERB : ROOM041 By Analog Obsession

Here be the mix. I'd say wait for update but i'm probably gonna forget about it so this'll have to do:

Channel strip: Acustica Audio Desert (With a whooping total of 2 bands of EQ AND optical comp only, because i hate myself:facepalm:)
    Tape emulation: Softube tape
Revs: Waves Abbey Road plates, IK Fame studio reverb
    Delay: Arturia Tape-201
    Modulation: Waves Reel ADT

Yes I know, but it does sound very nice. I use mostly "vintage" things just stock Logic stuff normally, because like the 1176 example. It just doesn't say it anywhere, but of course it is available. So I am going shopping via this thread for a new strip that will be within parameters for this. I really like the CS5501 but that is obviously too new.

@No Avenger Are you planning to participate?

Finally I can hear bass drum! The mix overall could be louder IMO. But still, bass drum!

Would A lindell 50 be allowed, or is that too advanced?

If you stick to one kind of EQ and one kind of compressor, no problem.
