Hi,

I have problem with Ableton Filter and EQ.
They are peaking in very high volume level.
When I move the filter frequency slow,te plus volume is near constant +0.5 or +1 dB maximum with the Ableton's autofilter,and EQ8 it's ok.
In fast movement,like in the video,this extra peak can be +15 dB,sometimes +1 dB,it's not permanent.
But I need this fast filter value change in live situation.

Okey,I know I can use peak limiter,or simple limiter but it is not a solution.
The Ableton's Administrator said to me EQ8 has been entirely overhauled for Live 9,but I have no option to upgrade,I have previous version of live.

So if Anyone have an experience with a good sounding,low peaking VST filter,they are welcome.

Yep this issue is well known and have been fix since v.9 .
I encourage you to check few filters plugins as:
Audio Damage Filterstation
Sugar Bytes Wow &/or Wow2
Sonalksis Creative Filter

and many others of course check here

There you can find & try several free excellent plugins aswell

And I 'm pretty sure others members can add infos, submissions ;-)

If you're using M4L, there is very good filters aswel, google it !

You know, a simple compressor after your filter do the job too. Just tweak it the way as it wouldn't be to drastic ;-)

Thank You for the help,and the tips!!!
I tried almost 20 different VST EQs and filters but I have no any luck unfortunately.Everything is peaking in the same point.
I have Ableton live 7 version,so I can not use M4L,I tried Reaktor's filters,the highpass cut range not full,not the best solution anyway.

 

Do it the oldschool way, search the peaking freq and treat the transient with a multiband comp/limiter.
